A lover of faerie tales, fantasy and gothic horror, a thread of the mysterious or unexpected runs through all my work. My dream is to find readers who will gather round and let me tell them stories that will become a part of their life the way they have become a part of mine.

A past winner of the Alice Munro short fiction contest, my work has appeared in a number of publications including, The Storyteller, A Fly in Amber, New Plains Review, Silly Tree Anthologies, and in the e-zines Les Bonnes Fees, The Devilfish Review, Rose Red Review and The Long Island Literary Journal. My YA novel, Losing Adam, garnered a silver medal in the Independent Publisher Book Awards.

I'm an aspiring writer, but I'm dealing with two things: I get discouraged every single day because 96% of manuscripts are rejected, and I haven't had an idea for years, literally. There's too many people wanting to be writers, and knowing there's so much competition just kills me a little every day. Writers write because they have to - because the act of writing is part of who they are. Applause is wonderful - most writers want to be published and appreciated - but even without those things you are still a writer if you practice the craft of writing. Feeling discouraged is part of the writing life, feel it, but don't let it stop you from writing. Writers write, the end. Everything else flows from the act of putting down words, even not-so-great ones. Give yourself permission to write terrible first drafts and the ideas will come, I promise. (less)

I've always been a dreamer and writing is a productive way to indulge that 'dreamy aspect of my personality.' I also love the feeling of being able to bring the stories in my head to life. Writing is definitely the closest thing to magic I've ever experienced.(less)
