The rest goes for the basic outline I have in my head, but it's nothing official and I don't mind stepping out of original outline if the story flows that way.

The Growth Arc might best fit for character building. But, again, I don't outline. As with the story, my characters grow and develop on their own. They tell their own story. They simply flow...and happen. Crazy as it may sound, they often surprise me. I never fully "know" the character until the end of the book. Many times, my real life experiences with human nature end up in their tales, but they still remain unique and live out their own dispositions.

The same goes for the story. It happens, it flows...on its own.

I hope this crazy explanation answers your question. :)(less)

That's like asking me to pick a favorite child. ;) But, seriously, I think From the Dark to the Dawn is my favorite. God taught me so much through writing it and healed a very large hole in my heart in the process. It's my best seller, and God has used it to touch other people, too. He gets the glory! Thank you for your question!(less)

Mothering in Freedom (In An Anxiety Spun World)

I have not been a mom for very long.
My son is 18 months, in fact.
He's far too young--and I'm far too much of a novice to write this article as a teacher with years of experience. There would be a great deal of arrogance (and untruth) in writing this with the assumption that I have the experience of years to guide my virtual pen.

Quotes by Alicia A. Willis  (?)

“A house divided against itself cannot stand. There is no middle road, no 'white' sin. One is either for God or against Him - there is no compromise between His holiness and the works of spiritual darkness.”
Alicia A. Willis

“Sword rang on sword, the metallic sounds echoing throughout the wide market place and filling the crannies of every dark alley. Strength waged against strength, as, indeed, rivals of evil have ever-battled the adversaries of truth. The face of one combatant appeared cool and certain, the other passionate in his resolve, intent upon seeing the battle through and winning the day with valor...”
Alicia A. Willis

“No.” Elizabeth shook her head. Resolution seeped through her, as powerful as adrenaline. “No one can command my convictions. They are mine, given to me by God and meant for my life’s journey. You can destroy my possessions, but you cannot take what is in my heart.”
Alicia A. Willis, Grace Triumphant: A Tale of the Slave Trade

“He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose.”
Jim Elliott

“When Christ calls a man, he bids him come and die.”
Deitrich Bonhoeffer, The Cost of Discipleship

“If sinners be damned, at least let them leap to Hell over our dead bodies. And if they perish, let them perish with our arms wrapped about their knees, imploring them to stay. If Hell must be filled, let it be filled in the teeth of our exertions, and let not one go unwarned and unprayed for.”
Charles Spurgeon

“Although my memory's fading, I remember two things very clearly: I am a great sinner and Christ is a great Savior.”
John Newton, Amazing Grace

“You may choose to look the other way but you can never say again that you did not know.”
William Wilberforce
