Steve Boggan was a news, features and investigative reporter for more than 30 years before concentrating on longer-form writing. He is a former Chief Reporter at The Independent and feature writer at The Times and The Guardian.

His first two books, Follow the Money and Gold Fever, were each chosen as BBC Radio Books of the Week.

He is also writer and co-producer of an award-winning documentary, Follow the Money, inspired by his first book of the same name.

He lives with his wife, Suzanne, in London.

I don't really get writer's block, though I do get writer's exhaustion, as in I reach a point where I simply can't write any more. That used to be after about five hours...but as I get older I have a horrible feeling the time frame is shrinking.

Also, be careful about such concepts as they can sometimes enable you to do something lame - not writing, not making the effort - by putting a shiny and respectable label on it.(less)

One day I think the result is good, the next I just know it's awful. The fear of not knowing which opinion is correct is what stops me from getting fat. That and the poverty.(less)
