In chapter one, I confront troubling opposition in Las Vegas, NV when I'm in love with a man addicted to drugs, alcohol, and gambling. My heart is torn to pieces as I watch in terror the destructive path leading him down a dark road filled with anguish, loss, and suffering.

Following the birth of our son, I come to a crossroad. Will I remain in my unfathomable situation or raise my baby alone? Is our marriage strong enough to rise above such intense adversity or will we crumble in despair?
