Thanks for the FUN BOOK-SIGNING!

Thanks to everyone who came out for my book-signing on Saturday! Really had fun meeting lots of cool new gal pals and hearing their stories. Nice to see people of all ages are still buying real books~plus I bribed them w/ chocolate chip cookies, lol Thanks to Sharan and Paul @ the Galveston Bookshop for their hospitality, and Paul's great poster!

Afterwards Gary and I strolled along Post Office Street, enjoying the wine, live music and admiring all the artwork. Best wishes to Scott & Samitha, owners of From the HeArt and Affaire d'Art galleries.

DECO DAMES, DEMON RUM AND DEATH #5 is for sale now!

Update~ Good news! The fifth novel in my Jazz Age mystery series, DECO DAMES, DEMON RUM AND DEATH, is now available on Amazon as an e-book or trade copy paperback.

DECO DAMES deals with the occult: fortune tellers, ghosts, Broadway Cemetery, spirits and the supernatural. I designed both covers using vintage photos and illustrations and hired artists to put it all together. Check it out online and LMK what you think:

My JAZZ AGE Mystery novels are now for sale at the From the HeART Gallery in Galveston!

If you're in the Galveston area, please drop by to see all of the awesome artwork by several select artists in the From the HeART Gallery, located @ 2111 Postoffice Street. Be sure to say hello to owners and artists Samitha and Scott Edwards, fearless leaders who spent a year salvaging this historic building and turning it into a colorful showcase for area artists. Postoffice Street is infamous for their concentration of brothels in the past (aka the red light district as well as the "Red Line" area), mentioned several times in my novels, especially in BATHING BEAUTIES.

Recently the gallery held a "Roaring Twenties" themed exhibit and costume party with a bouncer at the door, a scavenger hunt, photo booth and fun prizes. Gary and I enjoyed meeting the swell guests, including Christina Youdan-Pfistershammer, a talented artist who won second place and whose artwork is featured on September's cover of GALVESTON MONTHLY. To see the original painting, you can view the jazzy art exhibit in the back--it's the tiger's stripes! Help support a deserving artist and this super art gallery and pick up a piece of art (and a book) today!

GAIDO'S Gift Shop in Galveston now carries my Jazz Age Mysteries!

So pleased that my Jazz Age Mystery series is for sale at the renowned Gaido's seafood restaurant and gift shop, a landmark in Galveston since 1911, located right on the Seawall. Thanks to the Gaidos and Rita for the amazing display~a perfect place to showcase my books.

Gaido's originally was located in Murdoch's Bath House, a favorite meeting place for the Beach Gang, and where Rose Maceo got his start as a barber--and gangster. Featured on the cover of FLAPPERS, Murdoch's has weathered numerous storms and hurricanes and was rebuilt after Hurricane Ike.

Be sure to check out this great gift shop next time you're in Galveston and enjoy first-class seafood and service too!

Update: Galveston 1920s JAZZ AGE COSTUME PARTY & Photo~ it was the Cat's Meow!

Update: The Speakeasy at the Courthouse Costume Party in Galveston was the bee's knees! Gary wore his smoker's robe and I was there in my flapper hat and burn-out top selling my 1920s Jazz Age mysteries to benefit the Galveston County Museum.

Thanks to everyone who bought my books! I especially enjoyed meeting Bootsie (Helen), the daughter of Johnny Jack Nounes, leader of the Downtown Gang, who features prominently in my novels. (I donated a copy of FLAPPERS and 20% of my proceeds to the fundraiser.)

We enjoyed live music, drinks and delicious snacks from 6-9 p.m. Here I am with two flapper friends in their jazzy frocks and headbands. Thanks to Jennifer Wycoff, Museum Director and Curator, for inviting us and organizing this swell event~ it was the cat's meow!

Hurricane Harvey Devastates Texas Gulf Coast

Our thoughts and best wishes go out to those people stranded by Hurricane Harvey in TX and LA.
We're OK here so far...Sad to see my hometown in such a chaotic state. These photos of Beltway 8 by Memorial were taken three miles from our house:
