My June Updates - Games of Thrones, Friends, or Big Bang Theory?
The CliffNotes of this blog post:
1. I've forgotten how to speak to you.
2. My next book releases in 28 days!
3. I'm pregnant with 8, and need help with their names.
Let's start with the awkward stuff. I haven't written to you in almost three months, which violates every rule I have for myself in terms of reader communication. The reason? I haven't had anything to say, and that - as a writer - is terrifying.
I've had writer's block before. In 2014, for three horrible weeks, I struggled through the middle of a novel, unable to move forward or backward. That blockage was fixed by deleting my last five chapters and taking the story in a different direction. I can't exactly follow that fix on a newsletter, but I certainly did try five or six different drafts - but abandoned them all.
Thank goodness my block has cleared, and it's mainly thanks to my inability to stay quiet for one second longer about my upcoming book, Filthy Vows.
Filthy Vows is about a married couple whose sex life takes a naughty turn, and I love it soooo much. It's unique for me to write about a couple who is already together, so the story unfolds at a different pace and they are able to face different struggles than a new falling-in-love couple.
This book is so... I don't even know what to say about it. They don't have a perfect marriage, but their interactions are so much fun and their sex life is so hot. I spent half of the time writing this book laughing and the other half squirming in my seat. Look for it on July 18th, exclusively on Amazon. I'll have a preorder for you in about two weeks.
If you'd like to read the book's description and add it to Goodreads, please click here: Filthy Vows
Now, let's chat about my babies. I was a bit deceptive in telling you that I was pregnant with octuplets because it's actually 9 (but I didn't know the word for 9 babies) and they aren't literally in my belly, they are in my incubator.
Here's a photo of my upcoming brood, along with their daddy!

This issue is... I now need NINE names. Potentially 9 names. It's hard to know how many of the eggs will actually hatch. Fertilized eggs have a hatch rate of 30 - 60%. So the chances are that our nine eggs will only produce 3-6 babies. I won't know their gender for a while unless we get the chicks professionally sexed, so I'll have to name them without their gender.
I'd like to pick names that all fit a certain theme. I was thinking Big Bang Theory characters or Game of Thrones. So, I'd have Penny, Leonard, and Raj. Or Daneyarius, Theon, and Ned Stark. Oh! Or maybe it should be Friends characters - Rachel, Ross, and Phoebe.
Urg... I'd love your thoughts! Please reply to this email with your vote as a theme of my baby chicks' names - or if you have any theme ideas I haven't thought of! Due to the size of my subscriber list, I won't be able to respond to your email - but I will read every single one!
By the time next month's newsletter comes out - I'll have baby chick photos *plus* Filthy Vows will be available! Keep scrolling, there's some more good stuff - and photos! - ahead.

I came across a starfish community while out of on the boat. Fun facts about starfish: They can weigh up to 11 pounds and live an average of 35 years!

The Ghostwriter is now available in Taiwan, Polish, Hungarian and Czech. I love seeing the foreign covers and the different creative directions each one goes in.

One reason I haven't published as many books in 2019 is that I've been busy on the other half of my business - working with aspiring and published authors to put on online workshops, free resources, and our first annual conference! This is a pic from Bootcamp - which was a 3-day intensive camp for aspiring authors. It was so much fun! You can find out more at InkersCon.com.

February Updates!
Happy February!
I like to procrastinate. A lot. It's why I still haven't unpacked from our vacation three weeks ago. Or gotten a haircut in three months. How CAN I? I've had so many more urgent things to do, like finish up this rewrite, or binge on BodyCam episodes, or argue with my husband over whether strawberry margaritas and daiquiris are the same thing (they aren't). While on my dedicated plight to procrastinate, I've also been busy with a new task: Writing My Author Ten Commandments.
Unlike the actual commandments, this list isn't set in stone, but I still thought you'd find it interesting! Here it goes...
1. Never spring a cliffhanger on readers.
2. Every book should contain a mystery.
3. Don't publish unless you're proud of it.
4. Never put a book on sale until it's at least a year old.
5. Never write a weak or spineless heroine.
6. Break rules on a regular basis. This will keep the reader guessing.
7. Trust your gut before your editors.
8. Don't rush. If you need to, bump out a release, but give your story the time it needs.
9. Invest in your product's writing time and costs: editing, proofreading, and presentation.
10. Write what you want to write, not what is hot in the market.
I kept this list beside me as I worked, and spent the majority of February rewriting SINNER SINNER. Rewriting is the process of taking a book from rough first draft to second, then third, then... sometimes eight or nine drafts. It's when I go through the manuscript deleting and adding content, changing point-of-views, scenes, and details. Often I make drastic changes in the entire plot, and sometimes I change just the beginning or the ending. I'm a hardcore rewriter and I have to be, because my first drafts are a COMPLETE MESS. They're disgusting. If you ever try to write a book and convince yourself that it's terrible--KEEP GOING. Like I tell my students, first drafts are supposed to be ugly. Think of the first time a baby walks. They fall down. They are pigeon-toed. They bump into things. But five years later, they are sprinting around and jumping over things!
My first draft of this book was a blindfolded baby on roller skates. Now, it's pirouetting and double-axeling like an Olympic contestant.
Speaking of this novel... it's called SINNER SINNER and it's a psychological suspense. If you read The Ghostwriter, it's the same genre, and will appeal to the same audience. You guys have been begging me for another Ghostwriter so... WAHOO! One is on its way.
I love this book. It's rotten and twisted and is one of those books where your heart is in your throat the entire time and you hate and love the characters as you read it... until BAM! The best moment of the book. I won't spoil it for you, but it's a pretty cool moment.
I don't know when I'll publish this book. It may be traditionally published, or I may publish it myself. I've got a lot of decisions to make on the future of this novel, but if you want to be notified when it releases, please click here to read the description and add it to Goodreads.
Latest book updates!

COVER REVEAL AND NEW RELEASE!
A love triangle you'll never expect...
In some ways, I was so ordinary. Waking up in bed with my Paul, my surfer boyfriend, our life filled with sandy toes and tan lines. I stocked books during the day and danced with him to Bob Marley at night.
In other ways, I was unordinary. I'd dust off the sand and step into Stewart's limousine. Zip up my evening gown and slide into my other life. Champagne and maid service. Orgasms and my businessman.
My life was a tide, pulling me back and forth between the two men. Soothing. Peaceful.
Then the undertow came, pulling my lives together, my men colliding, my breath shortening, arms flailing against the current, my heart breaking in its strength.
I should have known it would never work out.
*This story was originally titled Sex Love Repeat.

I was in Dallas this last weekend at a signing. You wouldn't know it, but the author community is very close-knit. We support each other, cheer on our successes, and help us through our rough times. Writing and publishing comes with a very unique set of struggles, and it often takes another author to understand those highs and lows. One of the best parts of a signing is seeing the amazing women who I communicate with often, but rarely get to see in person.

We just celebrated our 12th anniversary in Exuma! I got to swim with sharks! They were so friendly and courteous. They felt like velvet sandpaper.
Also in Exuma, I swam with pigs! If you saw the Fyre Festival documentary, this is the same island. The pigs were really aggressive, but I escaped without being bitten (yay!). Also, they were adorable. If you want to read a romance with the best pig ever in it, check out Tripping on a Halo. :)
I hope you enjoyed this blog post.

Do you like turkey or money better? This newsletter has both!
In preparation of Turkey Day, I've got a new manuscript kicking, an e-reader packed full of novels, and a heating blanket to get me through any tryptophan-induced naps. Thanksgiving plans haven't stopped the excitement though, and this newsletter is packed full of it!
First up... have you seen the greatest cover in the world? It's the one for my upcoming release, and every time I look at it, it makes me smile! Don't worry, it's included in this newsletter.
I've also teamed up with three other authors to give away $200 in gift cards (text BOOKS to 313131 to enter). Oh! And we opened registrations to INKERS CON - an author conference I am holding this May in Dallas, Texas.
Signed Paperbacks Sale:
For a limited time, I've got *signed* paperbacks for sale! Limited editions available!
Get yours: bit.ly/2DPxv4j

I'm so excited to share the cover of my upcoming release!
Creating a cover is always an interesting practice in patience. I've gone through as many as fifty drafts before coming to a final product. But with this new release, the cover designer nailed it on the very first try!
Tripping on a Halo is about Autumn, a 28-year-old scrapbooker who has a pet pig, a nosy sister, and... a slight obsession with Declan Moss. TRIPPING is a romantic comedy with enough twists and turns to keep you guessing - and laughing out loud.
Reserve your paperback today, or preorder an ebook on Apple Books, Nook, Kobo, or Google Play. There is no preorder for Kindle, but you can get an email notification when it goes live if you click here >> nextnovel.com.

Good luck! Winners will be notified via text message!
Fun Newsletter Fact:
One fact seems boring - how about five? Let's see...
1. I am extremely inflexible, so much so that I get 'stretched' by a professional once a week.
2. I was a nationally-ranked cross-country runner in high school but hated every single mile of it.
3. I love liver and onions, watermelon, and rice. (Not at the same time)
4. I've never had a cup of coffee or a cigarette.
5. I went sky-diving on my eighteenth birthday.
Thank you so much for your support! I appreciate every like/comment, purchase, and review!
Happy Reading!

My next book is coming December 7th!
Ready to smile?
I'm so excited about my upcoming release, and I can't WAIT for you to read it! It's a standalone rom-com about enemies who become lovers, amid a hilarious cast!

It’s really hard to save a guy’s life when he keeps running from you...
You might be asking yourself why I’m waving an inflatable penis in the air and screaming at the top of my lungs. If I took time to explain, Declan Moss would get hit by a bus.
Let me back up. I didn’t ask for this. I was perfectly happy—and perfectly sane—before I was tasked with keeping Declan Moss alive. It was a thankless job until the moment that my panties dropped and his delicious smirk found his way in between my thighs.
Hello, toe-curling ecstasy. Goodbye, professional boundaries. And suddenly, there’s a new danger to avoid: the falling of my heart.

EXCERPT
“I’d like to speak to your boss.” His words were quiet, but I knew they were being picked up by the hidden mics, set into every seam of this building. He turned to me, and in the direct eye contact, I felt unstable, a scrap of paper loose in a hurricane.
Did everyone feel this way? Was this how he’d captured our city so easily, how he’d filled thousands of hotel rooms and seduced the best talent into his workforce?
I reached out, resting my hand on the railing and forced myself not to grip it for dear life. “I’m afraid that isn’t possible. The owners aren’t here tonight.”
“Ah.” He nodded and stepped closer. I forced myself not to move. This close to him, I could smell his cologne. I could feel the edge of his pants as they brushed against my bare legs. “I don’t believe you,” he said quietly.
I lifted one shoulder in the most casual way I could and shrugged. “Sometimes people don’t.”
It was a risky move, and I thought of all the stories I’d heard, men who had lost body parts or disappeared, all for playing the wrong way, counting the wrong cards, or saying the wrong things. I met his eyes, tightened my gut, and prepared for the worst.
Then, he laughed, turning back to the floor, his hands resting on the railing, the edge of a grin visible on that handsome face.
He was beautiful, in a fierce, wild way. Short dark hair, littered with silver. Big, strong features, a once-broken nose, but handsome lines. He looked like a pretty boy who grew into a man and beat the shit out of the kid he’d once been. He looked like a night full of filthy, delicious sex, and a string of orgasms that would leave you panting and delirious. He looked untouchable.
He looked back at me, and the hint of a smile still touched his lips. “Ballsy. I like that.”

My next release, Hidden Seams, is HERE!
It is exclusively on Amazon, here is a link that should work for all countries.

So… what’s this book about?
HIDDEN SEAMS is an enemies-to-lovers romance, set in New York City. It opens with the death of Vince Horace – one of the world’s most famous fashion designers. With Horace’s passing, there is suddenly a billion-dollar fortune at stake – a fortune which has been promised to Marco Lent – the sexiest man in fashion. But Marco holds a decade-long secret, and when a mysterious brunette – Avery McKenna - pops into his life, she could destroy his fortune or be the key to his happiness.
Is it a standalone?
Yes! HIDDEN SEAMS is a complete standalone, and you don’t have to read any of my other titles. That being said, if you are a passionate fan of my work, you may recognize and enjoy few characters that make brief appearances in the novel.
Is it a romance?
It is! Prepare for thick sexual tension, off-the-charts chemistry, and sex scenes so hot they may burn your fingers. I had so much fun creating the dynamic between this couple. If you enjoyed HOLLYWOOD DIRT – this has a similar vibe in terms of the character’s banter, connection, and sexual chemistry.
How much is it?
Release week pricing will be $3.99. That price will increase to $4.99 on January 24th. If you are part of Kindle Unlimited - you can read it for free!
Read it now on Amazon and/or Kindle Unlimited!
Thank you for taking the time to read this blog post! I think you’re going to love Hidden Seams!
Sincerely,
Alessandra

HUGE NEWS!
HUGE NEWS! I can't believe it, but The Ghostwriter received enough write-in votes to become a semi-finalist in the Goodreads Choice Awards! This is HUGE! Thank you so so so much for nominating it!
Please help it win the Mystery/Thriller award and vote here: https://www.goodreads.com/choiceaward...?

More News:
I'm writing a new book! I'm diving into hot and forbidden sexiness - and I can't wait for you to meet the lead of this next book. It's called Hiding in the Closet <-- please check out the blurb and add it to your TBR list!
I'm also still working on All In, which I'm publishing a chapter at a time, on the Radish app. I'll be eventually releasing that story as novels once the series is finished, so look for those sometime in 2018.
November will be a month of non-stop writing, so I won't be around as much on social media, but that's a good thing - it means that words are flowing and productivity is in high gear!
Thank you so much for your support! And Happy Halloween! Want to see what my costume was? Click here >> https://www.instagram.com/p/Ba7fDZOFq...
Happy Reading!

France, Giveaways, and Movie!
Happy Fall!
WOW - this has been an exciting month! Fall is in the air, and I'm spending my weekends watching college football and reading - and the rest of the time busy on the computer. As I type this newsletter, I'm only four days away from my next release - and still reeling from the events of this week! Let me go ahead and dive into the bulk of my updates.
THE GHOSTWRITER. The cover released this month and advance reviews are pouring in! I've never had such a strong reaction from a book. There's a reason it took me an entire year to write The Ghostwriter, a reason I was emotionally drained when I finished it. This book is everything to me, and I can't wait to see your reaction to it. It releases this Monday!

Advance Reviews:
“Breathtaking. The emotions are raw, real, explosive...an absolute must-read.” NYT Bestseller Kim Karr
“A gripping story so profound that I’ll still be thinking about it months from now. The Ghostwriter is hands down one of the best books of 2017.” NYT Bestseller Corinne Michaels
"I could not put this book down, even to pick up my jaw. This book is an insane roller coaster ride through one betrayal and twist after another." NYT Bestseller CD Reiss

It is called ALL IN, and it is on a new app platform called Radish. On the Radish app, the story will unfold in a similar manner to a TV show - with one new episode (chapter) releasing per week. Anxious readers will have the opportunity to pay to unlock new episodes sooner.

Dario Capece was a king, one whose casinos and reputation ruled the Vegas Strip. I was a cocktail waitress with too many shoes and too little sense. He was married, I was flighty - our odds the sort that should never be calculated.
