It's like making a new friend, and I can spend hours just exploring who they are and where they're going. If I'm not careful, I get lost in getting to know the characters instead of writing their story. Then again, it's always fun to start the story, to put them into situations and see what happens next!(less)

When he tapped on the window, he scared me almost as much as he scared Andrea! Now you have my wheels turning... maybe he should have a novella someday. Definitely something I'll have to think about. Want a fun fact? When he showed up, he didn't tell me his name, so I had to give him one. I looked down and my dog was sleeping beside me. So Dutch? He's named after my faithful ol' Husky.(less)

Profaning the Holy

This is something I will never forget… I was in a Bible study once, and the leader had us set our Bibles in front of us.  I’d just bought a new one, and it was the first time I was using it.  It had taken me weeks to choose the “perfect” one, and if you use your Bible a lot, you know what I mean by that.  There were about eight of us in the class, and the leader said, “I want you to hit your Bible

“He knew what he had to do, knew what God was calling him to do, even though obedience to the call ripped his heart in two.”
Jodie Bailey, Captured at Christmas: A Romantic Suspense Novel

“I’m only saying you might have your identity placed in something now instead of something forever. You’re who Jesus says you are, not who the world says.” She sat back in her chair again. “Not to preach at you, but He didn’t die for you because you’re a deputy marshal or your parents are whoever. He died for you because you’re you. Period.”
Jodie Bailey, Fatal Identity

“Jenna breathed in peace, an assurance she'd never known before. Life wasn't perfect. Men weren't perfect. But her value didn't come from them. It came from Christ.”
Jodie Bailey, Mistaken Twin
