Would You Rather

Would you rather Go back in time and change 1 thing, or Go forward in time to see what your life will be like in 30 years?

Welcome to my interactive blog! Basically, every few days I am going to ask a "would you rather" question and wait for some responses before I give my own answer. I think this is a fun way for people to get to know each other.

Game Rules:
~ There are no wrong answers to the question above.
~ It is more fun if you give your answer and explain why you chose that but feel free not to explain if you don't want to.
~ Please don't bash anybody else's answer :)
~ This is hypothetical, I'm not actually offering you the things in question :)
~ Have fun with this!Eric Tripp

In my head

I have often wondered what it would be like to see or hear what is going on in someone else's mind. There are some minds, like that of Dr. Seuss, that would probably be quite entertaining to be in. Other minds, such as Stephen King's mind, I imagine would be frightening for average people.

When I write I find myself pouring many of the thoughts and experiences that I have collected over the years into my stories and it occurred to me that when somebody reads what I have written they are actually getting a glimpse of what it would be like for them to be in my head. I'm not sure if this same window into the mind holds true for the stories of other authors but this realization made me smile because I love the idea of sharing such an intimate part of who I am with others.

I hope that everybody who reads what I write is as entertained by what goes on in my head as I am on a daily basis. Enjoy!Dominique Ick Lessont and the Dragon Knight

Working on my book :)

Today I was working on my third book in the Dominique Ick Lessont series and as I was writing the story began to take on a life of it's own. It's difficult to explain but it was very exciting so I am going to try.

When I write I have an idea in my head of what will happen in the story. In this particular section two characters are traveling together and during their travel I wanted to find a way for them to connect and begin a romantic relationship. When I started writing I had no idea how I was going to go about creating this relationship, but as I wrote the dialogue between the characters just began to pour onto the screen and when I finished typing I was amazed at the transformation the two characters had gone through with each other. It did not seem forced or fake. It was almost as if this was how they were supposed to become a couple. It gave me goose-bumps!

When I read back through this chapter I got chills again. I really wish the book were already finished and published so I could talk to someone about it!

I was going to try not to talk about my book while blogging, but this had me so excited that I needed somewhere to vent. :)

Thanks for reading!

The rain = Happy

Today I was typing on my computer while sitting at the round glass table on the patio behind my house. The sun was shining brightly, so I put up the umbrella for shade. As I worked I became so focused that I didn't notice that rain clouds had rolled in until it began sprinkling all around me. In no time at all the patio was wet and I found myself wanting to play in the rail as if I were a little kid again. Sadly the rain didn't last more than a few minutes, but in that few minutes I realized just how happy the rain makes me feel.

I hope there are things in your life that make you feel as excited and happy as the rain made me feel today! Dominique Ick Lessont and the Dragon Knight
