I am the author of FINDING GRACE, a 2012 recipient of the Catholic Writers Guild Seal of Approval (available in paperback and Kindle on Amazon) and ERIN'S RING (currently available in paperback). ERIN'S RING was awarded two Book Awards in 2015 from the Catholic Press Association: 2nd place in Books for Teens & Young Adults, and 3rd place in Catholic Novels.

I was born in NJ, grew up in Upstate NY, and studied at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA, where I earned a BA in English. I am married to my high school sweetheart, with whom I raised 5 sons, now all grown, in Southern NH. These days, I'm also "Grammy" to 16 darling grandchildren (and counting!). My husband and I recently moved to northern VA to be closer to our kids and gra

It wasn't long before I began to learn about the rich and fascinating history of this small New England city, which was settled in 1623 and is the oldest permanent settlement in the state. Dover was the site of Indian massacres, epic fires, and devastating floods--to name just a few of the historical events you could write a book about. But what interested me most (having a part-Irish mom and an all-Irish husband) was the history of the Irish immigrants who began to come to Dover in droves starting in the early 1800's--many to work in the cotton mill in the center of town--and were ultimately instrumental in having the first Catholic church built in what had always been a mostly Protestant area.

I always thought the history of Dover's Irish-Catholic immigrants, whose numbers grew so exponentially during the 19th century that there was eventually an area of town known as "Dublin," would make a great backdrop for an historical novel. And thus was born Erin's Ring, my newly released YA Catholic novel, published by Bezalel Books in November of 2014. It has been a labor of love: a tribute to the town where my five sons were raised, to the church my family attends each Sunday for Mass, and to the brave, hardy, faith-filled, wonderful people who left the poverty of their beloved Emerald Isle to find better lives here in America.(less)

I have only recently updated my Goodreads page and started checking in again. It has been a very busy year for my family, and I haven’t been as active on social media.

Finding Grace is available on Amazon in the Kindle format, and I think it also still sells in paperback there as well, but I’m not sure how much longer it will be in print. I am able to get author copies, however, if Amazon is out and you’re still interested. I actually think it’s perfect for grades 8-10, and although it features a female main character, there are many strong, positive male characters in the story, too.

Forgive me for not answering this long ago! I’m sure this reply comes much too late. I appreciate your interest in my first “baby.”(less)

Easter 2026

Yes, this is my Easter post.  And I'm a little late, I know—but what else is new when it comes to me and updating this blog?!  I think it's a good thing that I'm having hardcover blog books printed up yearly now as family keepsakes, because it makes me more determined not to let too much time pass between posts!  If possible, I'd like all of our most important family get-togethers to be included i
