As much as I love to read and write, my greatest joy is when I see a child or an adult enjoying something I’ve written. To reach large numbers of children, I developed my own literacy program where, as the Storybook Princess, I visited hundreds of schools promoting literacy. I dressed as a princess, complete with Cinderella gown, tiara, bejeweled slippers and rhinestone jewelry! Accompanied by my dolls, Wanda and Rhonda, we tried to instill a love of reading in young children. In conjunction with my visits I self- published The Ah-Chooo Book and The Grumpy Queen. Nothing made me happier than the smiles on their faces when they read my books.

Michael's journey

It's been over a month since my last blog entry. We are trying to stay positive and hopeful despite the news that Michael has a type of acute myeloid leukemia with a very poor prognosis. Tomorrow he will undergo yet another bone marrow test to see if his leukemia is in remission. It is a painful test, but he doesn't complain. He is trying to remain optimistic.
