I love discovering authors who have an engaging, unique or authentic voice. I also love a good recommendation of books that are fun, provocative, interesting or enrich my knowledge about historical events. This is why I'm on Goodreads - reading is an incredibly valuable use of time, particularly in this age of chaos and noise.

As an author, I've written two novels, two books of short stories and a memoir about running. Reviews are always welcomed!

FATAL INDEMNITY is a murder/mystery featuring an insurance investigator who stumbles across the murder of a homeless woman and finds himself in over his head (2012).

DOMINIC GRAVES is about brothers who grow into two different worlds following the loss of their parents; one taken in by a wealthy unc

Is this The End?

“A history professor once told me that there are two ways we learn: you can put your hand on the hot stove, or you can hear tales of people who already did that and how it turned out for them.”
“While much of what follows is rather dark, looking at history has a way of putting our circumstances in better perspective. Hearing about what, for example, people dealt with as their cities were carpet-bo

Gregory’s Recent Updates

M Is for Magic by Neil Gaiman
“Stories you read when you're the right age never quite leave you. You may forget who wrote them or what the story was called. Sometimes you'll forget precisely what happened, but if a story touches you it will stay with you, haunting the places in your mind that you rarely ever visit.”

The Power of Myth by Joseph Campbell
“Mythology is not a lie, mythology is poetry, it is metaphorical. It has been well said that mythology is the penultimate truth--penultimate because the ultimate cannot be put into words. It is beyond words. Beyond images, beyond that bounding rim of the Buddhist Wheel of Becoming. Mythology pitches the mind beyond that rim, to what can be known but not told.”
Joseph Campbell
Oedipus Rex by Sophocles
“Time, which sees all things, has found you out.”

“On the other side of a storm is the strength that comes from having navigated through it. Raise your sail and begin.”
Gregory S. Williams

“Think for yourself. Ignore the noises around you that polarize and try to promote fear and division. You know better. Be better. Breathe.”
Gregory S. Williams

“A thousand good deeds can be undone with one flash of anger. As a mature adult, you can master your affect and through it, provide the world with a steadiness and strength that is badly needed in this complicated age.”
Gregory S. Williams

“Men occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of them pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing had happened.”
Winston S. Churchill

“A thing is not necessarily true because a man dies for it.”
Oscar Wilde

“I believe that what we become depends on what our fathers teach us at odd moments, when they aren't trying to teach us. We are formed by little scraps of wisdom.”
Umberto Eco, Foucault’s Pendulum

“Who could be so lucky? Who comes to a lake for water and sees the reflection of moon.”
Rumi

“Every morning in Africa a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must move faster than the lion or it will not survive. Every morning a lion wakes up and it knows it must move faster than the slowest gazelle or it will starve. It doesn't matter if you are the lion or the gazelle, when the sun comes up, you better be moving.”
