Is this The End?

Dan Carlin is a radio host, news reporter, columnist, and as an amateur historian has delivered a series of successful podcasts titled “Hardcore History”, in which he recounts with vigor and detail different events in human history, and brings them to life to a modern listener in a manner that is extraordinarily compelling and fascinating. In my opinion, his are some of the best podcasts available today. The most gripping retelling of World War I stories I’ve heard.
That said, I was pleasantly surprised to hear he had put some of his skills onto paper in book form, with the provocative title, The End is Always Near. The obvious hook is that many people are looking at our current state of affairs and seeing the end times. Storms, pandemics, riots, etc. He doesn’t drive you to one conclusion or another – as an outstanding storyteller, he simply recounts different times in history when humankind has felt this way. And there are many.
