Chuck Miceli writes novels, plays, poetry, and nonfiction, and he follows the story that interests him most rather than a single genre.

His novel "Wounded Angels," based on real people, places, and events, was first published in 2020 by Elm Hill, a division of HarperCollins Christian Publishing. On November 15, 2026, it returns in two revised and expanded editions: a Second Edition edited for readers of Christian fiction, and a Mature Reader Edition with some frank language, graphic war-related violence, and explicit, not erotic, sexual references. Narrated in the first person by Maureen Bower, the story follows her from a sweltering July in 1937 through World War II, fifty years of marriage, and the grief that comes after. His other books include the paranormal thriller "Amanda's Room" (2012) and its abridged Traveler's Edition (2015); "GOD is Watching the Apples" (2025), a collaborative biography of Tops Marketplace in Plantsville, Connecticut, written with John Salerno and Betsy Tooker; and "Fire Behind Bars" (1979), a co-authored U.S. Department of Justice textbook and the first U.S. book on deadly fires in secure institutions. His poem "Miner's Lament" took third place for nonrhyming poetry in the 84th Annual Writer's Digest Writing Competition. In 1979, he co-created the St. Thomas / St. Luke Passion Play in Southington, Connecticut, which has been staged every year since.

Born in Pittston, Pennsylvania, the son of a coal miner, Chuck grew up one of eleven children in the East New York section of Brooklyn. A graduate of Holy Apostles College and Seminary, he holds degrees in philosophy and criminal justice. He served as a Staff Sergeant in the Marine Corps Reserves and spent more than thirty years in criminal justice training and consulting, including posts as Chief of Curriculum at the Connecticut Justice Academy and Coordinator for the National Institute of Corrections Resource Center.
