Show Or Tell? You Choose.

Fair warning.

If you enjoy character development, you'll probably like Little Deadly Things. If that’s not your cup of meat, then take heed: the story begins in the reading present and then moves back in time to examine the childhood of the main characters.

The outer tale is a technothriller, high-tech sci-fi. The inner story is an exploration of how adults cope with the angry residue of a childhood time served under abusive or feckless parents.

I use a lot of ink to on the back stories of the characters. Otherwise the villain is a two-dimensional cliché. Even the hheroine has character flaws. These annoyed some readers. They annoyed me, too, as the character evolved.

If you want your story to move from Point A to Point Z in strict alphabetical order, then Little Deadly Things may frustrate you.

If you want to watch the characters grow, then read the book.

I do prefer to entertain than to irritate and hope I provide more of the former than the latter.
