Alice K. Boatwright is the author of award-winning mysteries and literary fiction. Her mysteries about the skeptical American Ellie Kent, who marries a handsome English vicar and moves to his Cotswold village, have generated an enthusiastic following. I started reading the first Ellie Kent mystery on Amazon's recommendation, and no recommendation as been so spot on! (I live in the SF area and I love British country-side mysteries--MC Beaton, Caroline Graham, Agatha Christie) I'm about one tenths into the book and I'm already looking forward to the second book! Is there an Ellie Kent series in the cards? :) I sure hope so!

The things worth writing about

The poet Jack Gilbert said the only things worth writing about were: ”Love, death, man, virtue, nature, magnitude, excellence, evil, suffering, courage, morality. What is the good life. What is honor. Who am I.”

So what about women? I suppose many subjects I would add to the list fit under virtue, magnitude, etc. But only a man would still use “man” in that way.
