A memory of a lifetime!
The book launch this past Saturday was simply amazing! So many friends and family from both home and work life came out to support little 'ol me, I was so overwhelmed by it all. Truly, I must have done something right sometime in my past- this lifetime or last- to have such great group of people come out and celebrate the completion of something so near and dear to my heart.
We ended up raising $94 in total on Saturday- and well on our way to our $500 donation goal for the Canadian Cancer Society. Please follow me here or on my facebook page (www.facebook.com/Natashawords)to see how close we are to our goal!! Thank-you, Thank-you, Thank-you...

One More Day!!
But with the help of some amazing colleagues, the event is a day away, and I am excited and nervous all at the same time. It will be for a good cause though, as a portion of the book sales starting tomorrow until end of October will be donated to the Canadian Cancer Society. So, please spread the word to family and friends alike- knowing that by buying "What Isaac Learned", people will also be supporting a great cause- no matter where they are in the world.
A few last minute items...and then we're all set to go!!

Time just seems…
Time just seems to fly by and doesn’t look like it ever will slow down. Is that the sign of old age?
With now less than 2 weeks left until Sept 29… Invites are needed to go out, and advertising the event everywhere I go are the next steps…Oh… And don’t forget the party favors and confirming the menu items with Cafe Tiramisu…. The list doesn’t seem to shrink as the excitement builds and the countdown continues!

What Isaac Learned: The Deed has been done!
I’ve never had the urge to start my own blog or website, simply because I never felt the need to do so. Having an email address and facebook account was enough for me to stay connected with the outside world.
But after maternity leave, and countless hours of writing, rewriting, word-smithing and rewriting again to the giant leap of hitting that “publish” button online, many of my friends have showed me the necessity of doing more than just quietly letting people know of an accomplishment that has been 10 years in the making. So…here I am trying for the first time the art that is blogging and seeing where it can take me.
10 years ago, a story formed in my head and I distinctly remember putting words on paper, while still in school. But as with many things, life happened and I tucked this inkling of a plot away inside a box and it was forgotten. Years later, after starting a career, after marriage and after finding myself a mother for the first time, the story was rediscovered again while I was on mat. leave. Reading the smudged words I had once written, and realizing I had coincidently named the story’s main character’s name the same name as my now new-born son- Isaac, something inside pushed me to finish what I couldn’t years ago. And so, with my husband’s great support and armed with my love for writing- reignited- I set out to finish the story so that my characters would now at least be complete. I dedicated the novel to my son Isaac and hope that when he is old enough to read it, he’ll appreciate every word and every sentence to be something of a blessing from both mom and dad- even when we are oneday no longer with him as he continues his life journey.
And while it’s not something a large publishing house- or any publisher for that matter- has recognized to be a masterpiece, it’s still something that came from the heart and is something that can be labeled an accomplishment (I think). And so, with encouraging words from friends and colleagues, a book launch celebration is warranted.
The writing of Isaac’s story has already been an unbelieve journey with making the novel available on Amazon, something I never really thought would come to fruitation. And now, with the help and support of friends and family, another adventure is set to begin in organizing and coordinating this launch.
And so, for anyone willing to support, I invite you to visit my blog posts and stay tuned for my upcoming book launch party. Be forewarned though, that this new blog will not have the bells and whistles that many accomplished bloggers have; but I hope it’ll still entice people- simply for the love of words!
More details of the book launch to follow, but in the meantime, check out the link for “What Isaac Learned” on Amazon.com:
