For the Serious Business Executive

Business practices lead to successful business management and growth. Sound business practices address the good, bad, and chaotic events in the business. Over the tenure of my career in financial management, I observed many businesses fold or suffer financially. They failed to implement sound financial management practices, especially the practice of budgeting.

I have discovered that a large number of businesses simply ignore budgeting or follow the theory that budgeting stifles the business and produces inflexibility. However, an old adage often brings managers back to a reality about it, "If you don't have a target, you will hit it every time." That is, one hits nothing or goes from hit and miss to missing altogether.

Another sage once wrote, "One rarely makes right decisions. Rather, one makes decisions and then makes them right." One practices management through successes and pitfalls, refining decision making until right decisions far outweigh bad ones. Making decision right is the norm.
