When I was high school I began writing this series called Missy Wilkinson, PI. It was a way to pass time and entertain my friends. I eventually started writing it for a creative writing class, and the legend of MWPI was born. There are now about a dozen stories using this character. She has appeared in books I wrote before, and even had her own book - the Case of the Gold Mine Mystery. After publishing that, I wondered if anyone would enjoy the early stories. I was encouraged by my friends, and this has led to me deciding to publish all of those early stories in volumes I call Legends of Missy Wilkinson, PI. I just completed the first volume, which includes a story I wrote as an introduction in 2010 (the Case of the Early Year) and the very FIRST MWPI story (the Case of the Team Beginning). It is set to be published this month. That will make the 16th book I've published (14 if you don't count the alternate versions of MWPI the Case of the Gold Mine Mystery).

Okay, so I am a little too excited to get the first one of this year done and available. Orphan$ is actually a book I wrote when I was in 5th Grade. There was a LOT of updates and rewrites needed. It is ready now, though, and I am proud of this one. Now on to book 2 for 2023.

It was tough getting six done this year, but I feel accomplished!

My next book, Chess King, is published! That's book 5 this year! Chess King is about a group of heroes in Seattle who are trying to stop some evil while a super villian named Chess King is going about his own plans. I'm still working on the 6th one that will come out this year, and I am regularly posting chapters on my Facebook page. This is turning out to be a great year!

I am still working my way up to 6 books being published this year. I think I will meet that! If you've written books, you know this is NOT easy. It takes a lot to put words on a page and it takes even more to get those words ready to be enjoyed by others. My list so far:

Sudden Exodus - which is essentially a story about dolphins in space...

Time Management: A Temporal Knights Enterprise - which is your typical time travel/immortals messing with society story...

SS Sorghum - which proves that fan fiction can get out of control...

Casebooking with Missy Wilkinson, PI - which tells you how to become a famous detective like Missy Wilkinson, PI...

Chess King: Fianchettoed Bishop: The Rise of Kingsler - which is in the process of being published right now and is a story about a super villian...

That is 5 books! I'm finishing up another one that should be ready sometimes in November. That will make 6 books this year! This is a big achievement. I wish I could have done this years ago! I have not made a goal for next year. Stay tuned!

Two more books down for this year. The total so far is 3, and I am still going for at least 6 this year. I am currently working on a large one called Orphan$. It is being posted on my author’s page on Facebook. My two newest books to be published are Time Management, which is obviously about time travelers being trapped in France before the revolution, and SS Sorghum, which is about a sub that hovers 10 feet in the air.

I’ve been dwelling a lot inside my own head recently and I keep coming back to why I even want to publish books. I initially was writing just for my friends. It was for fun. Now I am revisiting all my old stories and trying to get them published so that others can enjoy them. I hope others are enjoying them.

I’ve been writing at least one chapter a week now, posting it on my Facebook author’s page to get feedback from readers. Not many people interact there. I can’t tell if it is because it is Facebook or because the people reading my stuff are introverts or if no one really likes it. It does keep me on my goals, though. I am working on the final chapters of my next book and should be able to get it published in February.

I wish I could get more feedback, though. I have always just written for myself, and I do not know if that is enough. How do I get myself out there so that more people will read it? And if Facebook does collapse, is there somewhere new I can use?

Okay, so my goal for this year is to finish at least 6 books and get them published. I'm off to a good start. I published Smith & Jones in December and just published Sudden Exodus this month. Check them out!

I'm going to be blogging a lot more as I work on the next book.

So it has been a while since Missy Wilkinson became a reality. I'm still writing. in fact, I'm putting up the first draft of my next book on Facebook (yes... FB... Don't come after me). It is almost finished, and I'm expanding it as I go through editing. So far I've adding two more chapters, and included an entire new plot. If you want to check out my author FB page, it is:

I finally finished it and all versions of Missy Wilkinson are published!! Yay! This has been a project I have worked on for at least 20 years. From its initial beginnings, Missy Wilkinson, PI was a humorous mystery story, then a series of stories, then a movie script, and now an actual published book. I have many of the old stories I wrote hanging around, and I am planning on releasing them in one or two volumes called the Legends of Missy Wilkinson, PI. I was going to put them all together in one big book, but I have discovered that the amount of stories will be HUGE! Right now, though, I am just happy that at least one Missy Wilkinson, PI story has made it into book form.
