When Truth is Stranger than Fiction

Lately, a book I wrote four years ago called The Christ Virus is beginning to look more and more prophetic. Yesterday, the City of Houston issued subpoenas to a group of pastors demanding they turn over any sermons dealing with homosexuality, gender identity or Annise Parker, the city's first openly lesbian mayor. Those ministers who fail to comply could be held in contempt of court. Fox News reported that Attorney Christina Holcomb from the Alliance Defending Freedom said, "The city council...

Eerie Parallel Between Ebola Outbreak and The Christ Virus

Mark Twain once said truth is stranger than fiction. We certainly live in times when the unthinkable often becomes reality. But ever once and awhile life and fiction crossover, and it's difficult to tell which came first. It happened 13 years ago when two planes flew into the Twin Towers. Until then, no one had ever thought of using passenger jets as flying bombs. Actually, that's not correct. More than a year before the 9/11 attacks, Joel Rosenberg penned The Last Jihad. In hi...

A Chip to Track You

School officials at 13 of Houston's schools are tracking students through Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) chips imbedded in badges the children are required to wear while at school. Administrators maintain the RFID badges are needed to track daily enrollment which impacts school budgets. The school receives a daily allotment for each student that is present on campus.

The idea sounds harmless enough. There were certainly times when my children were growing up that I would...

America is in the Cross Hairs of Radical Islam

Images of burning cars, crazed rioters, and perplexed politicos have filled our screens the last few days. Arab Spring has disappeared as quickly as it arrived. The reversal has stunned the world. But it shouldn't have.

As radical Muslims stormed the American embassy in Egypt, black flags waved in the background declaring "There is no God but Allah." A militant who attacked the American consulate in Benghazi, Libya shouted, "The Americans are infidels and we are going to finish them."

Why would...

When Right is Wrong and Wrong is Right

The Bible forewarned that in the last days perilous times will come, when men will no longer tolerate the truth. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. 2 Timothy 4:3-4

My friends that time is upon us.

The headline of a recent editorial in USA Today underscores this...

Seeds of Second Bowl Judgment Being Sown?

In Revelation 16:3 the Lord discloses that one judgment the world will suffer during the tribulation is the destruction of all aquatic life.

"Then the second angel poured out his bowl on the sea, and it became blood as of a dead man; and every living creature in the sea died."

Two catastrophic events to the world's oceans have occurred in less than a year: the BP oil spill and most recently, the release of more than 11,000 tons of radioactive water into the Pacific Ocean. The immediate effects...

The Beginning of Sorrows

Jesus warned of a time when the world will be besieged with war, famine, pestilence, and earthquakes. The scripture in Matthew 24:6-8 could have been ripped from today's headlines. Did you know there are currently 27 wars being fought throughout the world, not including the uprisings in the Middle East?

Food prices are at an all-time high which has driven 44 million people into poverty, according to a recent article in The Week.

Several strains of bacteria are penicillin resistant. The world al...

The Mother of all Earthquakes

The greatest earthquake the world will ever experience will occur in Jerusalem. Revelation 16:18-19 describes how the "great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell." So its magnitude will be so great that it will shake the entire world.

The Jerusalem Post recently reported that Israel is not prepared to face an earthquake of the intensity that shook Japan. Israeli building codes are not designed to withstand a major earthquake. An Israeli university professor sai...

A Quart of Wheat for a Denarius

Revelation 6:6 describes a future time when a quart of wheat will cost a day's wage. We are fast approaching that time. According to a recent article in The Week food prices are at an all-time high. The cost of wheat has doubled in one year and the price of corn has increased 33 percent since 2008.

The rise in food prices has exacerbated tension in the Middle East and provided a strong platform for those seeking regime change.  An average family in Egypt spends 38 percent of its inco...

Troubling News from the East

http://www.businessinsider.com/chinese-military-spending-2011-3

It seems each week delivers more troubling news about China. It was recently reported that China plans to increase its military budget by 12.7%. Granted the U.S. still spends about twice what China does, but remember that China's economy is growing at an annual rate of 8 to 10% while the U.S. is hovering in the anemic 2 to 3% range. Many analysts project China will surpass the U.S. as the world's largest economy in the next ten ye...
