The Assassin published
I am proud to say that my second novel, The Assassin, an espionage novel, has been published at amazon.com.
Max Doerr lives in New York with his wife, working as an editor for a newspaper. He has a son from his previous marriage. But He has a secret in his past life that he never told his wife. Then suddenly his son is killed brutally. Grief stricken, he tries to find his son's killer but to no avail. The pain is too much and he sees his wife suffering too. Doerr tells his wife to go and spend some time with her mother. His CIA past comes back to him and he gets involved in a vortex of murder and international crime, and finds out that his son’s death was the beginning of a much bigger conspiracy.

My surgery
Just came back from Hospital For Special Surgery, New York. I had a shoulder surgery yesterday. Doctor said everything went well, and that agonizing pain I had should be gone shortly.
Now I should be able to write faster:)

Train accident
The morning was foggy but warmer than the day before. I started my trip to a new day's work in an old train. The train started slowly, and as I settled into reading my favorite book, the monster train gained speed. After fifteen minutes, I closed my book and then my eyes, hoping for a morning slumber. And then it happened - the train seemed to have exploded, wiping any sleep that might have accumulated around my eyes. Debris flew and fellow passengers screamed.
I grabbed the handle to the seat next to mine, hoping to keep myself steady.
Soon police arrived; they were followed by the procession of ambulances. After much inquiring and eavesdropping, I figured out the train had hit a tractor trailer. Ten people we injured, and two seriously.
No, this is not from book. It really happened to me this morning. I am posting a picture of the train. I am doing pretty okay now. I always avoid the first and last car in a train, due to some event that took place during my childhood. At the site, a doctor came and told us how to avoid PTSD. He said don’t look up photos on the net, and generally this kind of thing happens only once in a life time.
I have always believed doctors. So now onward, I am free to ride on any car in a train, first or last:)

Pandit Ravi Shanker
In Varanasi, India a star was born in the year of 1920.
Today we mourn death of maestro of Indian music Pandit Ravi Shanker.
He was the open channel that existed for decades between Indian and western music world. A brave man who played sitar that enthralled millions. Even during the last few days of his life he played on stage with oxygen tubes on.
His person life created lot of haters for him in India. Nonetheless, he is loved by millions of music lovers.
His contribution wasn't just limited to the world of music. He was a great humanitarian as well.
When millions fled their homeland Bangladesh in 1971 and faced dire situation he provided much needed help.
Today we salute the genius who started the greater journey to all mighty.

Sandy
Due to Sandy we lost power for twelve days(not that I am complaining). This is the poetry I wrote after getting the lights back.
SANDY
Sandy knocked out my power
Now I'm left with just a glimmer of hope
Much like the thin soft light beaming
Out of the tiny bulb at the corner
Waters rise and walls fall
Babies cry and men scamper
Fires rage and trees uproot
But whose fault is it
We poke and plunder
We disrobe and dismantle
Take what we need
And take what we don't need
Water waves dance as ice disappear
Land goes down under
Making sharks merry
Octopus smirk with all eight tentacles
Mother nature's Tears stream down
She can't bear to see us turn thieves
She opens and closes tearful eyes
Creating water splash and air rumble

Poetry Rainy Day
Here is a poetry that me and my son wrote for a local magazine.
As lightning dazzles in the sky
And wind flies high
One by one, raindrops fall
On the street, nobody come by
I see the water in bay
Rising and rising to the crest
My mind runs along
Inside, there's a tempest
It is so cold
Yet the pansies are bold
It's spreading purple petal
Blooms like golden metal
The sky is dark gray
I could see the flooded bay
Rain, rain stop falling
Soon, my mom will be calling
The deers hide in the forest
Lions scamper to fend
Sun blasts through the clouds
Sky smiles at the end
As lightning dazzles in the sky
And wind flies high
One by one, raindrops fall
On the street, nobody come by
I see the water in bay
Rising and rising to the crest
My mind runs along
Inside, there's a tempest
It is so cold
Yet the pansies are bold
It's spreading purple petal
Blooms like golden metal
The sky is dark gray
I could see the flooded bay
Rain, rain stop falling
Soon, my mom will be calling
The deers hide in the forest
Lions scamper to fend
Sun blasts through the clouds
Sky smiles at the end
