A few months back I announced a contest but never announced who won! I'm a monkey.
Librarian Jana Warnell at Russell Elementary in NW Montana was the first librarian to send me an e-mail with the subject "My School Is Full of Nerds!" Jana works hard to provide her Title 1 school students the best library experience she can. I'm thrilled to have sent her two signed copies of NERDS. Perhaps we'll run this contest again for Grimm 8 and maybe open it up to some kids. What do you think?

Yay! Media Bistro!

Here's what mediabistro.com's galleycat said about NERDS and yours truly.
Today's Author Pick of the Day is Michael Buckley, author of the hilarious new series of books called, N.E.R.D.S. (Abrams) I had been waiting for this book to come out for months and harrassed the publicist night and day to receive a review copy of it.
Buckley is already the author of the New York Times bestselling series and Today Show Al Roker Book Club pick, The Sisters Grimm. He has also written and developed shows fo...

NERDS Scholastic Video!

Check out this very funny video I made to promote NERDS as part of the scholastic book fair. I'm told it's selling like hot cakes. Naturally, it's because I come off as very cook and mature in this video ;)

Missing in action
[image error]
The last few months have been outrageously busy. I've wrapped up Book 8 of the sisters grimm, written the first draft of NERDS 2, worked tirelessly on the first 12 episodes of Horrorbots (which might be called Robotomy), and i've been plotting out my new graphic novel hellfire commandos. I also had a second or two to write a picture book. I'm a very busy boy but i'm going to try to keep this site updated.
What else has been going on....hmmm. Well, NERDS was a featured scholastic book fa...

Goodbye, frugal frigate
[image error]
Heard some terrible news today - the frugal frigate in redlands, ca has shut it doors. Not sure if this is a temporary move or something more permanent but it is a tremendous loss to the writing community and the people of southern california. My experiences with its owners were always amazing - Brad Hundman and family were nothing short of charming and full of passion. As I recall, Brad purchased the business from a woman who ran it for many years - her redecorated and put his "can do" sp...
