The High Water trilogy is complete

Wow! It’s been a few years of putting this together, and now we’re complete. It feels good.

HIGH WATER, PART 3: HANG EM HIGH!

highwater3.jpg

This series started with an idea: what would a bunch of kung fu loving stoners do in a zombie apocalypse?

By the time I got to the third novel, there were Amish zealots, ancient conspiracies, villains becoming heroes, and heroes losing their innocence. Zombies became the most mundane part. The characters came to life in my mind. It became a story of friendship, love,...

Weird Weed is live! Strange stoner stories

WEIRD WEED

Weird_Weed_Cover_for_Kindle

Here’s a project I’ve been working on for awhile. Starting with a few short stories of my own, Weird Weed became a collaborative project between myself, Mara K Eton and Tyler Haas.

If you’ve been reading the blog, you probably know by now that both are writing in this venerated little medium we call Pot Fiction. Tyler draws, Mara writes, and the both of them have strong lungs, it suffices to say.

Inside Weird Weed, you’ll find short stories about 19th century Jamaica, space travel...

[Analysis] Hit it or get off the Pot, or, Putting the P in Pot

Who says basic research is dead?

NIH is funding a three year study in Washington state to measure the amount of metabolized cannabinoids in the sewer system. This shitty job will be done by the University of Puget Sound, because who else would do it?

Consumers of cannabis defecate some of the psychoactive ingredients in the plant. Everyone knows this. The drug testing industry made oodles once it was discovered that you could ruin someone’s life over the content of their pee. The university r...

[Announcement] High Water now in Paperback

Greetings readers!

I’ve been very busy writing instead of blogging, because if I have time for one, I will focus on the writing.

In my spare time, I’ve been finishing up the PAPERBACK VERSION of High Water.

http://www.amazon.com/High-Water-1-R-W-Tucker/dp/1502565927/

This is incredibly exciting. I’m selling it for about as cheap as I can possibly make it. Part 2, High Water: Low Point, will be available in paperback very soon as well.

At the same time, I’ve also finished a draft of Part 3, wh...

[Book Review] The 420 Code

The first question to ask when writing a code is whether it is necessary to write one. One writes codes of conduct when decision paths are unclear, or outcomes are cloudy. Whether it’s Kant’s Categorical Imperative or the Golden Rule, the code of conduct applies to all equally.

You’re probably discussing this and more when someone breaks the bong.

Now what? The 420 Code is a crowdsourced document published online, and is available in print. Branching off from the reddit weed foru...

Honeybees: Dumping the bees

Hey everyone! While I’ll been very busy on my short story collection and my next novel, plus the final book in the High Water series, I’ve also been raising bees. Why not have more hobbies than you can healthily manage?

“Honeybee02″. Licensed under Public Domain via Wikipedia – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Honeybee02.jpg#/media/File:Honeybee02.jpg

Rather than rehashing everything I needed to know about bees before installation, I thought I’d write about what I learned...
