This is the illustration I did for the story “A Little Christmas Mayhem” by Jeff Strand. In his usual blend of horror and dark humor, he weaves the tale of a homeless man who, after stealing a Santa suit, goes on a gleeful killing spree. A cropped version of the art was used for the cover as well.

Joy to the world

This was the illustration I did for the Nat Robinson story “Squash” in issue #3 of Splatterpunk Zine, and was the first (and to date only) time my drawing was deemed “not brutal enough” to use as the cover illustration!

Jack Bantry, the publisher, said he envisioned a more gory scene of a face being crushed under a tire, and an eyeball popping out!

I remarked that I viewed it in more of a Twilight Zone, Tales From The Crypt vibe. Ominous, spooky, and a little bloody, but more subtly creepy than an in-your-face gorefest, which might be a little cheesy.

Jack’s response was “subtle is good”.

This was the illustration for my cosmic-horror short story “Greenpeace” in Merrill David’s anthology “Head Blown Too”.

A teenage punk rocker, going door to door as he peddles for Greenpeace, stumbles upon the basement lab of a former military scientist. One who experiments with creatures from another world.

Sabotage Failed!

I’ve heard that the current tactic for haters to use in Kickstarter campaigns is to make a large donation, then withdraw it a few days before the project ends, so the whole thing misses its funding goal, and it’s too late to ramp up promotion. In fact, it happens so often, people complain about it constantly on message boards and in posts.
I don’t know if that was the case with me, but two people made a large pledge less than a week ago, then pulled out yesterday, with less than four days to go.
If the plan was to sabotage my campaign, the plot backfired. I made a few emergency posts, friends and fellow creators rallied behind me, and now my campaign not only made its funding goal, but also reached its stretch goal. Which means everyone who supported with $10 or more gets a sticker, bookmark, and magnet!

Pledge met, but still a few days left to get some extra goodies!

New Kickstarter Rewards!

Two of my backers just dropped out, and now I’m $50 below my funding goal! I’ve raised $750 of the $800 needed and have 4 days to go!

The campaign is fully funded! I shot low on the advice of Corissa Grant (of Worthy Chaos fame), but I’d love to go a little higher.
