The spotlights are blinding.

Nothing, that is, but him.

I grew up in the Hollywood spotlight, the daughter of movie royalty. Since a young age, I was deemed a natural talent. A rising starlet. I had dreams and a path set ahead of me.

Until a plane crash ruined everything.

In my darkest hour, I had no choice but to rely on the one man who’s always been by my family’s side: Marcus Ortega—my parents’ closest friend turned agent and protector, and who is now, reluctantly, my new caretaker.

With a dangerous past steeped in crime, he’s ruthless, cutthroat, and incredibly sexy, despite being almost twice my age.

It’s well known that Marcus never wanted to watch over a “spoiled brat” like me, but I’m starting to think there’s another reason for his distance. A secret that could shatter us both.

He’s in control of my money, my career, and my life until my trust fund says I can be free. It may be what I wanted once upon a time, but in a world where the things that glitter aren’t always gold, I’m desperate for something real.

Real and destructive like him.

Book Blast + #Giveaway : The Auction Lot - by L M Somerton [Sold to the Billionaire Collection] #GayRomance #Billionaire #BDSM

I'm delighted to welcome back the fabulous

L M Somerton with a sneak peek of  The Auction Lot.

Take it away, L M!

The Auction LotbyL M SomertonSold to the Billionaire Collection
Genres/Tropes: gay, lgbtqi, mm romance, erotic, erotic romance, billionaire, bondage, bdsm, kink, holiday, Christmas, auction, Cornwall, contemporary

The Auction Lot – L M Somerton

The Auction Lot is a novella I wrote for Totally Entwined’s ‘Sold to the Billionaire’ series. There are three other books in the group, another MM and two MF, so if the concept is your thing, there are more goodies to be had.

I don’t often respond specifically to submission calls, but this one grabbed my attention and fitted an idea I’d had bubbling for a while. I was intrigued by the idea of someone selling themselves as an investment in the future and what might happen if their buyer turned out to be the man of their dreams. It also gave me the opportunity to return to one of my favourite settings, Cornwall, where the landscape always becomes a part of the story.

If you’re fond of Poldark (and who isn’t!) I’m afraid there’s no heroic riding across headlands or dips in the sea (because believe me, it’s freezing). There is a storm, a dramatic rescue, an unexploded bomb and a house renovation. There’s also plenty of humour and kinky play.

If this sounds like your cup of tea, you can buy the book via the universal link: https://books2read.com/u/47RZpE

or direct from my publisher at Pride Publishing: https://www.pride-publishing.com/book/the-auction-lot

Going once, going twice, sold!

For sub Ethan Peltier, selling himself to the highest bidder will set him up for life.

Merrick Tremayne sees the sub auction as an opportunity to avoid gold diggers and try out the lifestyle he craves. A business transaction with a willing participant is something he understands.

Restoring Merrick’s family home in Cornwall gives the men a chance to get to know each other while they work together. Neither of them expects to fall in love, but the drama of some traumatic events reveals the intensity of their feelings.

Will the auction contract stand, or will they find a way to let each other know that defaulting might be the only option?

“You’re insane. One hundred per cent certifiable. Who do I call to get you committed?”

“Don’t be such a drama queen, Angus. I need money and a lot of it. This is a win-win situation.”

“I only told you about the auction because it’s intriguing. You weren’t supposed to apply!”

“What did you think I’d do? File it in my ‘useless stuff Angus tells me’ file? Cos that part of my brain is full.” Ethan Peltier prodded his best friend and roommate’s arm. “Hmm, have you been working out?”

“Don’t try to deflect. The closest I get to the gym is that cute coffee shop next door and you know it.”

“The one with the hunky barista?”

“That’s the one—other than lifting a coffee cup, my kind of exercise is more on a one-to-one basis.”

“Slut.”

“Thank you.” Angus preened. “But to get back to the point, messing with serious Doms is never going to be good for your health.”

“I’ve played with all kinds of Doms at the club and I’m not messing with them.”

“There’s a big fucking difference between a night at the Underground and a year as a full-time sub!”

“You know I want any long-term relationship to be in the lifestyle. It’s who I am. Besides, the auction has strict rules, just like the club. Bad behaviour means a lifetime, worldwide ban from any of the good BDSM clubs. Real Doms won’t risk their reputations like that.”

“These guys are mega rich. Big dogs. We’re weak, breakable and a bit chewy.”

“Where do you get this stuff? They aren’t looking for chew toys, though I guess puppy play could be an option. You’re not going to put me off.” Despite his bravado, Ethan was a little nervous. “What’s not to like? A million quid in exchange for a year as some squillionaire rich guy’s sub. My older brother had to remortgage his house to pay for my grandad’s care home until he passed. Kids are expensive, and he has two of them. I have student loans up to my ears.”

“A year! What if you don’t like the dude?”

“I don’t have to like him, just submit to him. I could pay off all my brother’s debts, and he could go back to carpentry and running his dive school instead of working on oil rigs. Diving on the rigs is unbelievably dangerous. We could get a decent headstone for grandad’s grave instead of the basic stone we sold his classic bikes to pay for, and I could pay off my loans and yours. We could go travelling. It would also be a great way of testing whether I want something twenty-four-seven when I meet my forever Dom.”

“If I can’t talk you out of it, I have to curb your enthusiasm. Applying doesn’t mean you’ll be accepted.”

“I have to have a decent chance. I’ve experience as a sub, they can check up on me at the Underground, and I haven’t upset anyone…recently. I don’t have any ties. I’ll graduate before the contract starts and I’m not too offensive to look at. Am I?”

“Be quiet, you two!” a passing librarian whispered at them. “This isn’t a bar and you’re disturbing people.” Ethan glanced around. There was no sign of another human being anywhere at the reading tables. He gave the librarian a head tilt. “Maggie, this place is deserted, and you love us. Go stack something.”

“You little brat! I should take a ruler to your behind.”

Angus snickered. “He’d like that.”

“And yours. Pair of reprobates. Do you ever read anything in here or are you just saving on your heating bill?”

Ethan gestured at his stack of books. “What are they then, goldfish?”

“You’re not reading them though, are you? You’re using them as a wall to hide from me.”

“Never! A degree is hard work. Angus and I are debating complex theories here.”

“Complex my ass. You’ll be discussing your latest conquests or the hot guy from the coffee shop.” She stalked away but Ethan caught her indulgent grin before she turned away.

Lucy Felthouse

The latest release from Lucy Felthouse, Not That Kind of Witch is a M/F steamy contemporary romance filled with fun and steam, which also tackles some serious topics. So if you’re looking for a hefty dollop of realism in your romance, then check this one out!

Blurb:

Can Willow let go of her fears and begin living her life again, or will her issues get the better of her?

Willow Green is having a hard time of it. Losing her job at the beginning of the pandemic and her elderly grandmother’s ‘clinically vulnerable’ status have resulted in her becoming housebound. While her entrepreneurial, hard-working spirit and the knowledge passed down through generations of green witches in her family mean she has solved her employment problem, her fear of going out, of allowing the dreaded virus into the house she shares with her grandmother, is far from resolved. In fact, it seems worse than ever.

That is, until Joe Lane comes along. The handsome care worker turned delivery driver does Willow a favour, gaining her attention and reluctant admiration. He’s got plenty of baggage of his own, but he also has the skills and temperament to help her with her problem—and he really seems to care.

The question is, will she let him get close enough to try?

Excerpt:
Willow Green had just stepped into the kitchen from the back garden when there came an almighty hammering on the front door. Panic and irritation flared in equal measure and she dumped her loaded wicker basket on the huge farmhouse-style table before hurrying through the house towards the source of the noise.

Another hammering. The irritation started to outweigh the panic. Whoever was there was in danger of waking the dead, never mind disturbing mostly-deaf Grandma Annie, whom Willow had left happily knitting in the conservatory with a cup of tea on the table at her side before she’d headed out to the garden.

Willow cast her gaze to the ceiling and grunted with frustration. The whole point of installing the smart doorbell and having it set to only sound an alert on her phone had been to prevent Grandma being tempted to get out of her chair and make her way to the door, putting her at risk of a trip or fall along the way, or placing her in a vulnerable position with a complete stranger. The added bonus being, Willow could be at the furthest reaches of the garden, and her phone would cleverly let her know someone was at the front door.

Had this person not seen the sign? Smack dab in the middle of the door: Please use doorbell. With an arrow pointing to it. Couldn’t they read?

Then she remembered. The last time this happened, which had been a while ago, prior to getting the doorbell camera in the first place, it had been kids at the door. Kids who, once she’d opened up, backed off down the path and began flinging jibes and questions at her from what they considered a safe distance.

Hey, witch.

Been out flying on your broomstick?

What’s bubbling in your cauldron?

You gonna turn us into toads?

Did your ancestors get burned at the stake?

Where’s your black cat?

Her heart sank. She sighed and prepared herself for more of the same. It was unlikely, after all, they’d have come up with something new or more original—despite the astonishing wealth of information the human race had at its fingertips these days. Perhaps they hadn’t bothered to look, to educate themselves, or simply thought it was fun to torment a forty-year-old woman who’d never harm anything or anyone—not even if it was possible to turn people into toads. Though, admittedly, if she were a lesser woman, she’d be sorely tempted to throw out a few fake incantations to scare them, make them think she’d cursed them.

Maybe she should. Yes, it was stooping to their level, but if it stopped them coming back…

No. I’m not going there. She briefly considered not answering the door at all. She could access the doorbell speaker and tell them to clear off from the safety and comfort of her hallway, but she didn’t want them to think she was weak, or frightened. That’d just enhance the thrill for them, encourage them to harass her more often. Not happening. Not on my watch. I don’t have time for that kind of idiocy.

She shook her head, unlocked the door and yanked it open, her annoyance already spilling forth. Generally speaking, she was an incredibly placid person, and slow to anger. But she didn’t want these kids to think this house was an easy target. She’d kept the previous incident from Grandma, not wanting to worry her, and had hoped the addition of the doorbell camera might deter them from returning. “Have you horrible toerags seriously got nothing better to do? You should be ashamed of yourselves, pestering people like this! I’ve a mind to contact your parents—”

She stopped dead as the door swung wide enough to provide a view of who was on the other side of it. Not kids—horrible or otherwise—but a man. With a large cardboard box at his feet, bearing a familiar logo. Uh-oh.

A glance past him to the gravel lane leading to her house confirmed her fears. A white Transit van sat there.

She cringed and forced her gaze back to the man. A navy-blue T-shirt bearing the delivery company’s logo was stretched over his muscular biceps and chunky abdomen—a dad bod, she supposed it’d be classed as, though she didn’t really agree with the terminology—as well as a pair of tan shorts and some beat-up looking trainers. He was tall, well over six feet, and she had to crane her neck to meet his eyes. “I’m so sorry. The last time someone hammered on my door like that, it was a bunch of kids shouting abuse. I thought you were them. If you’d just rung the doorbell, like the sign…”

The frown that appeared on the man’s face as she spoke made her shift her attention to her right, a sinking feeling taking over. Where there should have been a sign attached to the centre of the door, were now only six evenly-spaced blobs of Blu-Tak.

Heat flared into her cheeks, and she let out a groan and closed her eyes momentarily. “Well, there was a sign. It’s obviously fallen off. I had no idea. Or I wouldn’t have… never mind. I’m really sorry. And now I’m waffling.” She gave a pained smile, her face threatening to burst into flames. “Anyway. You have a parcel for me?” Her voice went so high at the end she was surprised she hadn’t summoned the neighbourhood dogs.

To his credit, the man simply shrugged. “No worries. I’ve been called worse. You’re…” he consulted the screen of the smartphone in his hand, “Willow Green?”

Given the circumstances, she let the slight waver of amusement in his voice at her name slide. “Yes,” she replied resignedly. “That’s me.”

“Great. It’s a tracked parcel, so I need to take a photo to prove I’ve delivered it…”

“Okay. Go ahead.”

He tapped his phone screen a few times, then lifted the device and stepped back, presumably ensuring he got the right angle so his image would contain both the parcel and her feet inside the open doorway. Pressed the button. “Got it. Thanks. Do you want me to bring it in for you? It’s pretty heavy.” He pocketed the phone.

“No,” she said quickly, recoiling as he approached and made to pick up the box. “I mean, no thank you. I’m fine. I need to find the sign before I go indoors, anyway. Don’t want to shout at any more undeserving delivery drivers, do I?” The chuckle she let out sounded forced, even to her own ears.

“Guess not.” He backed off and clasped his chin, then stroked his thick beard, more grey than black—the colour of his thick, plentiful hair, which had only a dusting of grey at the temples. He glanced at the doorbell and wrinkled his nose. “Should’ve spotted that, really. Especially when no one answered after I knocked a few times. The Blu-Tak should have provided a clue that maybe there was a sign there, and I could have put two and two together. I’m sorry. Such an idiot. Won’t make that mistake again though, will I?” Despite the weakness of his smile, it transformed his face enough that Willow’s stomach flipped. Goodness, he’s handsome.

  Jensen

Itold her I'd be back for her. It took me eight years, and when I didfind her again, she was pissed at me. She had every right to be,sure, but nothing she said or did would keep me away or run me offagain. I had lots of hurts to apologize for and issues to helpheal.

Merry Christmas, Soldier

Crooked Halos Book 1

Merry Christmas, Soldier is an 11K novella written in first personpast tense. It is a taboo romance with an 18 year age gap betweenthem; all characters are of legal, consenting age.

Jensen is inthe military, and Mercy was born premature; if any of that mightpossibly be a trigger, proceed with caution.

It is a prequel, which means there's more to the story --- and yes, it ends on acliffhanger... There is cussing, slight kink, and sexualsituations. Again, proceed with caution. This is not intendedfor anyone under the age of 18.

When I was little, I thought everyone had stories in their head. When I found out only special people had stories to tell, I wanted to be one of the magical ones who shared their stories with the world. I wrote my first book in kindergarten with the help of my teacher, Mrs. Daniels. My mom – my biggest fan and most ardent supporter – has that little crayon-drawn book tucked into the pages of her family bible. It took almost thirty years to get from there to published but here I am, making my own dreams come true, one happily ever after at a time.

Ashley gazed around the lavish cabin designated for her and wiped her clammy palms on her jeans. Her heart had been thumping a rapid tattoo ever since she’d stepped foot onto the luxurious pleasure craft. I can’t believe I’m going through with this.

Christmas carols played over the cabin’s speakers and a cheery red poinsettia sat on the coffee table, a green and gold embossed card propped against its pot.

Ashley Carlisle, we welcome you to the annual Sydney Billionaires’ BDSM Christmas Auction. Good luck.

She selected a holly-adorned mint from a crystal bowl and popped it into her mouth. There was just one billionaire that she was interested in, and she’d been studying his likes and dislikes for weeks. She’d honed her mind and body, even gaining a few kilos to obtain the full, curved backside and hips that he so desired. Hours of lunges, squats and other tortuous exercises had helped her achieve the “rounded butt” look. She prayed that her hard work would pay off and that she’d snag the undivided attention of her target, Talbot Stone. Even his name, Talbot, held an apt foreboding—messenger of destruction.

Just thinking of the Stone name left a sour taste in her mouth. The elder Stone had been the man who had ruined her father and sent him to an early grave. Now it was time for Ashley to recoup some of the money lost to her family. The Stones were an unscrupulous lot, intent on stepping over and on anyone to get what they desired. And what they desired, above all else, was money. She was sure Talbot Stone was no different than his father—proud, egotistical and entitled.

As far as Ashley could see, the Stone men didn’t have many weaknesses. They owned various companies, had their fingers in any pie that would prove lucrative, and if things didn’t work out as they’d planned, they had no problems spinning the situation to suit their needs. They were ruthless in business and Ashley would be no match for them in that quarter. Her one chance to get at Talbot Stone would be through this BDSM auction. Through her study of the man, she had discovered that in BDSM circles, he was a well-known Dom, one who submissives lusted after. A Dom with money, power and looks, and every year, he participated in the Christmas auction. She wasn’t an experienced submissive, but she’d dabbled enough to understand what was required of her. If she was successful at the auction, she’d have an opening to Talbot and his life, but, more importantly, his money. She just had to hold his interest for the full seven days. By all accounts, he was quick to boredom, so she needed to obtain, then keep his attention.

Her plan had more holes than Swiss cheese. What if another Dom won her? What if Talbot Stone had no interest in her? What if she couldn’t stick it out? What if she wasn’t a good submissive? The “what ifs” seemed endless. Her short-term goal was gaining Talbot’s interest. If she got that far, if he won her at the auction, she’d need to last for a week before her payment was granted. And there was a certain poetic justice, skewed though it might be, in deceiving him. She was tough. She could endure a week of the enigmatic and powerful Talbot Stone. It could be worse. He could look like the hunchback of Notre Dame. She giggled, relieving some of the tension in her chest. Despite the nerve-wracking situation, a frisson of excitement skipped down her spine. I might even enjoy this a little.

The cabin vibrated and the boat rocked, signalling that they were moving away from the private wharf. She gazed out through the window at the city lights surrounding Sydney Harbour and tried not to worry about the looming auction. She needed to be strong and confident, a mix of sassy but submissive —a combination that would take everything in her to pull off.

She had to do something to relax. She wandered into the adjoining bathroom and turned on the taps for the tub. Various products were lined up on the countertop in assorted fragrances reminiscent of Christmas. She chose a spicy brandy and orange-scented oil and poured it under the running water, then she lit a Christmas pudding candle, imbuing the room with the familiar scent of cinnamon and cloves. She undressed, tied her hair into a topknot then slipped into the fragrant water.

The long soak in the tub left her relaxed and refreshed and she had succeeded in calming her nerves. Now she stood, assessing her reflection in the full-length mirror.

It had taken her an age to create her outfit, but she was pleased with the result. Candy canes fashioned into a skirt and woven into fishing line floated low on her rounded hips, finishing just above mid-thigh. Red, white and green Christmas mints snaked in circles around each of her full breasts. She’d pulled her long auburn hair into a high ponytail and tied it with a red ribbon. She’d kept her makeup natural but had painted her lips a bright crimson to keep to the Christmas theme. Candy-cane jewellery circled her wrists in the form of cuffs. Strappy red stilettos finished the look. The effect was whimsical but sexy. If luck was on her side, she’d start a bidding war.

She scanned her notecards on Talbot Stone one last time. She had to play her part to perfection to extract a high bid from the man. She needed the money. She loved her job as a social worker, but her student loans were extensive. She also wanted to look after her mother and sister, and she was determined to make Talbot Stone pay.

She startled as the cabin intercom crackled to life and a disembodied voice requested her presence at the staging area. The auction was about to commence.

* * * *

Talbot Stone stared out through the window of his assigned state room, his chin resting on his thumb and forefinger as he pondered the evening ahead. Some Doms requested a dossier of the submissives for auction, pouring over the pages and photos for weeks in advance. Talbot had never done that. He preferred the excitement of the unknown, the surprise of seeing that submissive, “the one” on stage as if presented to him like a gift. It was a Christmas auction, after all, and he considered his chosen submissive a reward to himself. He’d unwrap his “gift” as if she were the most special present in the world. After that, he couldn’t say that he would be so careful. His cock thickened and lengthened as he imagined what he’d do with his new submissive. Tying her up for the first time and turning her ass a beautiful shade of pink to red would be exquisite. Would she cry and scream for him to stop, or would she take it silently? Would she be quick to safeword? He hoped not. There was nothing more annoying than a sub who safeworded at the first sign of discomfort. The submissives on the auction block he’d expect to be practiced in the art, but the thought of an inexperienced sub was more than a little intriguing. That would add a whole new dimension to things.

He checked his watch — a little over an hour until the auction would start. The anticipation was clawing at his spine and tightening his chest. Soon he would have his new submissive.
