Beware the River
Let me begin by stating the obvious. Self-publishing a book is hard! At least it was for me. In my opinion, writing a book is a walk in the park compared to getting the words published. Formatting alone was a nightmare. I thought for sure Createspace would kick me off their site because I read and corrected and downloaded my book “Beware the River” so many times. This book was read at least one hundred times, yet when I ordered a proof copy there would be the inevitable mistake. So, I would correct, download, order a proof, (Createspace must make a fortune off proofs alone) find an error and begin the process again. Honestly, I began the publishing process in May 2012 and the book was available for sale September 29, 2012.
Fortunately, all that is behind me now. The book is finally up and running on Amazon. Now I get to start all over again with my second book “Lynna’s Rogue” a historical romance. Then around the beginning of 2013 I hope to release “Midsummer’s Eve” a women’s fiction. I don’t expect these to take nearly as long to publish. I have read so many blogs, and asked questions in forums, and sent so many emails to help desks that I feel like I can solve the majority of problems that I encounter on my own. We shall see!
