We are often asked which of our books is our favorite. Usually it's whatever book we're currently working on--how can we expect readers to fall for characters if we aren't head over heels for them ourselves? But we noticed that we rarely refer to our 29th book as "The True Love Experiment" because we almost always just say Fizzy. Fizzy's book. Fizzy's tour.

We never planned to write a book for Fizzy, which is why it delights us to see the way she has wrestled her way to the top of our favorites list. She is fun and funny, brave and loyal. And while we are nowhere near as cool as our effervescent, romance-writing Fizzy, when she talks about chasing your joy and loving her readers, that's all us.

Basically we are obsessed with all of you.

Thank you for reading our stories, and if we see you on tour, thank you for taking time out of your life to celebrate with us. Happy Wednesday! I (Lo!) had the honor of reading this book as it was written and y’all, this one is special. It is funny and sexy and real and wise. Georgie is a floppy muppet getting her s*** together and Levi is THEE HOTTEST MOST PRECIOUS HERO basically keeping his head down and just trying to do his very hot manly job without bothering anyone. Hello hello! We turned in Fizzy's book last night and flew to DC this afternoon and are officially on tour for Something Wilder! You guys, this is our 28th published book and I swear I have no idea how that happened. We wrote Something Wilder to be a fun, steamy, swoony adventure and escape from the real world, and we hope that comes through on every page. Think second chance romance, a gender-swapped Romancing the Stone, or Indiana Jones but with way more kissing and *gasp* only one sleeping bag. That's Something Wilder. When we wrote this book in 2019, we had no idea what 2020 would have up its sleeve. We set out to write something swoony and steamy, something funny with just a little bit of magic—a tiny escape from reality. Who knew how much we would all need it, or how relevant Mae’s time-looping Holidaze adventure would be. But while Mae’s world might be turned upside down, she’s also safe at this cabin, with loved ones and only the requirement that she figure out what path she’s meant to take (and maybe how to get Andrew under the mistletoe). If we all had something this simple to focus on, life would be so much easier.

But that is exactly what romance gives us—yes, it’s aspirational and wish-fulfillment; it’s fun and uplifting—but this year, it is also the much-needed escape. Romance is here doing what romances does, and we need it now more than ever.
