Orchard Pointe Cover Reveal! When Strange Takes a Vacation…
I’m a big fan of the Horror Twins, authors Brian LeTendre and Jolene Haley. At the end of last year they debuted with Harrowed, a YA serial killer horror, and now they’ve returned with Orchard Pointe, an amusement park YA Horror, perfect for a stab in the heart of summer.
And now you get to see the cover. Are you excited? You should be excited.
Here we go:
ORCHARD POINTE:
Every town has its secrets. This town is made of them.
It’s been ten years since Hudson James stepped foot in the small beach town of Orchard Pointe. His parents are battling through a nasty divorce and he’s forced to spend the summer in Maine with extended family. But Hudson makes the most of it. He finds kindred spirits in his cousin Marley and her oddball friend Kit, and lands a security job at the amusement park he loved as a kid.
Oceanside Amusement Park was once the centerpiece of the beachfront tourist experience. But with attendance down and the park in need of an update, Orchard Pointe’s tricentennial celebration might be the last chance to turn things around. The town brings in a performance group all the way from their sister city of Monrive, France—Madame Chambers’ Coterie of Curiosities. From sideshow to burlesque acts, Madame Chambers and her eccentric group of performers mesmerize locals and tourists alike from the moment they arrive.
When a girl disappears from the park during Hudson’s very first shift, he feels responsible. When she turns up dead, Hudson can’t forgive himself. He vows to discover the truth about what happened and the more he digs, the more he’s certain that Madame Chambers and her Coterie aren’t what they seem.
Can Hudson stop the wave of darkness that has crashed down on Orchard Pointe, or will the undertow of secrets claim another victim?

What I Read in April 2016
I’m excited to start reading the third The Others novel, but I’m holding off because Robert and I have been reading Written In Red (The Others, #1) outloud. I do so much rereading (and reading of books that aren’t out yet) that I’ve gotten behind on my goodreads challenge goals. I seem to be permanently about two books behind. *sigh*

Blood & Glitter (Deadly Divas, #2) Cover Reveal
I was working on things a little bit ago and realized I never have posted anything about the BLOOD & GLITTER (Deadly Divas, #2) cover! I love the covers (and the titles) for this series. The folks over at Deranged Doctor Design worked really hard on these. I can’t wait to show you the third cover–there is something about seeing three lined up together that makes me all giddy! I’ll be sure to do that post in a week or two.
Alright. You ready? Here it is. BLOOD & GLITTER.
It matches up well with the LIPSTICK & ZOMBIES cover, don’t ya think?

What I Read in March 2016
I was so busy rereading with revisions in January and February–where I read 7 books total–that I didn’t give myself time to read. This month, I balanced time a little better and read 14 books in March, and it did not feel like enough. (It never feels like enough.)
A couple of these (Glass Houses and Frost Burned) are rereads. I was rereading Mercy Thompson at the end of 2015, and wanted to reread 7&8 before I dive into the brand new #9. I am always waiting for the new Mercy Thompson, it seems.
Don’t book covers look pretty when they’re all lined up? Books, books, books!
I’m going to go read.
What have you read lately?

What I’ve Been Up To
+ I mostly finished BLOOD & GLITTER (Deadly Divas, #2) a little while ago. I need to look over some last proofreading notes, and format this beautiful beast. But it’s only a few hours work.
+ I’ve been working HARD on Deadly Divas THREE so that I can release two and three super close together. Revisions, revisions, revisions! It’s looking like a book at this point, and I’m in a moment of “Holy moly how did that happen?” shock. I feel like I was just fiddling with it one day, looked up, and realized it was a book… and am now experiencing almost-done panic, right on schedule. What am I panicking about? I don’t even know. I just hate finishing things. That’s weird, right? Yes, definitely weird…
+ I helped Robert McKay with the final touches publishing his newest book BEAUTY AND THE FLEET (Intergalactic Fairy Tales, #2). He actually wrote that book for me. I was reading a lot of retellings and complaining that I wasn’t finding what I wanted, so… he wrote me a book.
That came out yesterday! *throws glitter* If you’d like to read it, you can get this beauty on amazon.
+ I’ve been reading his next book, too.
+ Hanging out at libraries, like I do.
+ Making moving plans. Yes!
+ Reading. I’m on book 6 in SM Reine’s Descent series. I need to get my hands on book 7–the end of the series! Ahh! Reine has a TON of free books on amazon. I was counting it out yesterday and I have read 10 of her books free. The first three in the Descent series, all four Seasons of the Moon, plus the first three Preternatural Affairs. All of her many series take place in the same universe. So read 10 free books, and then be sucked in for life. (I’m onto her evil plans and have fallen happily into line.)
And that’s me. You?

What I’ve Been Up To Lately
+ Working on Blood & Glitter (Deadly Divas, #2). I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS BOOK. The whole series. Writing about this group of popstars fighting zombies could probably sustain me for the rest of my life.
+ Listening to lots of stuff. Today, it’s mostly Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats (I am obsessed!). Robert got me new headphones (I have been headphoneless for over six months) and my life is vastly improved! I have leveled up guys. They have bluetooth, so they can be cordless. I am free as a bird! No one has ever been as grateful for headphones as I am for these babies. I love them.
+ Going to the library or the food court of Whole Foods, and working on book stuff. Changing the scenery makes me feel like I’m not just doing the same thing all the time.
+ Reading. I’ve recently read the first three Rylee Adamson books by Shannon Mayer and need to get my grabby hands on #4. If you’ve read it: Alex is the best. And Eve.
+ Looking forward to Robert’s parents coming to visit us next week!
+ Writing out scenes to books I’m not supposed to be working on right now. Oops.
+ Using Habitica like a boss. I manage my life like a video game and now the world makes sense.
+ Tweeting.
+ Watching travel videos on YouTube. Do you do this? What are your favorite channels? Or videos?
And that really accounts for everything, except like, cooking for two hours a week (and stuffing everything into containers, because who has time for daily effort?) and the hour I spend at the laundry mat on Sunday mornings. Even then, I’m book working. And listening to music. If there is an option to see how many hours you listen to Spotify in a week, I’d be scared to look at it.
