A Foray into Kindle Scout
In the past week I've finished my most recent novel, Matters of the Heart. Normally, as soon as my manuscript was turned into a mobi file by my formatter, I'd publish through Amazon's KDP platform. This time I'm taking a different path. I'm enrolling Matters of the Heart in Amazon's Kindle Scout program.
What the heck is Kindle Scout? I had the same question. Simply put, it's reader powered publishing for new, never before published books. It’s a place where readers help decide if a book gets published. They do this by nominating books they like. If the Kindle Scout folks choose it, those nominating the book receive a free digital copy when Kindle Press publishes it.
So my campaign kicked off at midnight and now will run for 30 days. If you want to read a 5,000 word excerpt of the novel and nominate it you can click the following link and it will take you right to my campaign page.

Feel free to share the news if you're so inclined.
I'm most uncomfortable conducting self-promotion so this will be an interesting step outside of my comfort zone. Matters of the Heart is ten miles outside that zone. It's my first journey into romance, and to boot, it's written (mainly) from a female point of view. So I'd love it if you'd give it a look and let me know what you think.
All the best,
Ben
