What a wonderful animal, perhaps far wiser than humans. Too bad that we seek to slaughter them in the wild.

You just have to take a look at this footage of elephants crossing a river in Africa. Enchanting...until one realizes that with the current rate of slaughter this kind of magical sight may not be happening for very much longer - so the enjoyment is bitter sweet.

ECHO AND THE MAGICAL WHISPERS won silver at the 2015 Moonbeam Children's Book Awards (pre teen fiction, mature issues). Written to highlight the terrible consequences of poaching of elephants for their ivory, the book is a fantasy written from the elephant's point of view.
