The Paradox of Success
Life becomes a lot simpler when you can hold the truth of its many paradoxes. Here's one: In order to move closer to your goal, you must often move further from it... temporarily.
To make a muscle strong, you must first make it weak through training and resistance, and then later strength comes.
To grow a business and make money, you may need to give away work for free or samples for free and lose money in order to gain trust and ultimately make money later.
To have better relationships with others, one may spend more time with themselves alone in self-reflection and self-work.
Like a slingshot, sometimes going in the exact opposite direction of where you want to end up is necessary to create the amount of force needed to rapidly propel you forward.
How do you need to move further from your goal *temporarily* to get closer to it?
