Huston Piner always wanted to be a writer but realized from an early age that learning to read would have to take precedence. A voracious reader, he loves nothing more than a well-told story, a glass of red, and music playing in the background. His writings focus on ordinary gay teenagers and young adults struggling with their orientation in the face of cultural prejudice and the evolving influence of LGBTQA+ rights on society. He and his partner live in a house ruled by three domineering cats in the mid-Atlantic region.

His first book My Life as a Myth was a 2013 Rainbow Awards finalist. Conjoined at the Soul won the 2015 Divine Magazine Award in the LGBT New Adult/Young Adult category. His first New Adult novel Light in Endless

A break, be it for exercise, running errands, or distracting yourself with a game, TV, or a movie helps open things up. The thing is to not dwell on the problem. The Muses have a way of taking over sometimes and the results are exquisite.

Another great thing is when someone tells you they liked something in your book that was significant for you, too. There is a special satisfaction that comes from knowing that something you wrote connected with another person; it's a very intimate thing.(less)

The future of Seasons of Chadham High and other projects.

I have been asked about future entries in the "Seasons of Chadham High" series, and yes, I do plan at least one more book, "We May Be Free." I'm also considering a re-release of "Light in Endless Darkness" as well as a follow up to "The Riddles of Mulberry Island."

However, a timetable for these projects is hard to set due to Dupuytren's Contracture, which I've apparently inherited from my Nordic a Read more of this blog post »
