Stay Gold: True Gold is live, finally!

After years of surgical refining, title changes, and general nail biting, True Gold (formerly known as True North) is finally live today!
This was a long and arduous labor, since I planned to indie publish this one at the end of 2016, but I am so proud of the final product. I can't wait for y'all to cradle this book baby in your arms.
Connor and Delilah are not your mamma's tried and true hero and swooning heroine, but if you've ever read me before, that's hardly a surprise. I write what I like to read, which means real people, flaws and all. Everyone deserves love, and I root for happy endings and redemption for everybody, including the jacked up yet sexy people.
I want to thank Tule Publishing, for holding my hand through this fist time go in traditional publishing. And a loud shout out to my agent, Marisa Corvisiero, for believing in this brutal romangst.

Blue Christmas, Delayed Release.

I know I've made a lot of fuss about True North lately. It's my tenth book and I'm pretty proud of it. That said, I feel it deserves a shot at traditional publishing, so I'm postponing my release for now. One can't expect change unless one changes how one operates. Simply put: I won't know if I don't try.
Thanks to some of my very best book bitches, I have irons in the fire. Keep your fingers and toes crossed for me. I'll update y'all when I know more. In the mean time, I have nine more books that could sure use more reviews!
I appreciate the support and understanding.
Love and Kisses,
Michelle

Float Planes and Green Berets: Get Ready for True North

2016. What a jacked up year. Most of us can't wait to see it go. I'm no different. We've had struggles on every imaginable level here at Casa de Pace this year, and I've spent most of my free time escaping into my very first action/adventure suspense romance, True North. It's soon to be my tenth published work, and I couldn't be prouder of it.

As a writer, one always hear the sagely advice "write what you know". anyone who follows me at all knows I do what I want, so as you can guess, there is very little in True North that I didn't have to research. Alaska, the army, special forces, piloting float planes, law enforcement, search and rescue operations...the list goes on and on. I dug into everything enthusiastically, and when I couldn't find what I needed, I even brought in some subject matter experts (yes, an actual Green Beret consulted on my manuscript, God love him). I hope it all came together enough to feel legit. This, my friends, is the issue with having a wild imagination. It runs...well...wild.

My past history with improv has taught me one important lesson when chasing your muse: see where it leads you and don't say no if you can help it. Mine led me to Alaska. Though I've never set foot there, the photos and videos are incredible, and my resident alaskan beta reader helped to fill int the gaps. One day soon, I hope to visit her in person and see this magical place for myself.

On top of these obstacles, I also wrote this book in the present tense, which turned out to be harder than expected. Though it was a bit like climbing a steep staircase, present tense provided the right voice for these characters and this genre, and I'm glad I stepped outside of my comfort zone.

If you get a charge out of dark novels with kickass balls-to-the-wall heroines, reluctant testosterone-testosterone-fuled heroes, action-packed drama, mystery and intrigue, steamy romance and plenty of violence: this book is for you. Remember, I write fiction-not fairytales, so buckle up 'cause True North is ready for take off on December 20th!

Mac is back!

Let me clear up a couple of things. Wood UWood U is a companion novel to the other three books. If you are reading the entire Carved Hearts series, I would recommend that you read it as the fourth book. You absolutely CAN read Wood U as a stand alone, though there will be spoilers galore for the other three books.

For those who've read Good WoodGood Wood, MollywoodMollywood, and HeartwoodHeartwood, Wood U is not just Mac Hildebrandt point of view on the other three books. (I hate it when authors do that to their readers, which is why Les (L.G.Pace III)L.G.Pace III and I wrote all four of these books in a rotating mae/female POV in the first place. Wood U is a parallel love story, and it features Mac (Molly's brother) and Kelly (Francis's daughter). It begins in the 8 month window between between Good Wood and Mollywood, and it ends after Heartwood, but before Heartwood's epilogue, which is set many months after the final chapter.

Confused? No need to be. Molly and Joe are supporting characters in Wood U, so you'll be able to figure out where this story fits in with theirs if you're already a Carved Hearts fan.
For those who asked for more Francis and more Mac, this book is our holiday gift for you. Plan for a December release, y'all!

Oculus!!!

USA Today Bestselling author, J.L. Mac and my husband, J.L. MacL.G.Pace IIIL.G. Pace III have teamed up to coauthor Oculus, a brand new series. The first book, Oculus, is scheduled to release December 29, 2015. This three-book series is a dystopian romance that chronicles the lives of Sicarius and Iris and all the steam, love, tragedy, suspense, loss and inconceivable circumstance that has been packed into this series. Mark your calendar. On December 29th, you’ll have to take a "Sic day".

Blurb:
Most people only believe in what they can see. Born without the most basic gift of sight, I rely on my other senses to guide me. Yet, what I believe in most is a phantom that resides in my dreams.
Under the blanket of twilight, I smell him. I feel him. I hear him. I taste him. But above all else, I see him.
And I want him.
I have no evidence that he’s real. But if he isn’t, why do I wake with the taste of him on my lips? I long for someone who doesn’t exist and even if he does, he’s forbidden, dangerous.
He’s from a different world, a frightening place beyond the walls that protect me. The Dark Lands, a broken world beyond the reach of the corporate control is what’s outside the gate. A lawless hellhole full of death, and chaos where savagery thrives under the cloak of darkness.
The irony is that my phantom, the one I want so badly, seems driven to destroy everything I’ve ever known.

Free Wood is Good!

Book one in our Carved Hearts (Good Wood) series is now free on all platforms!!! Y'all should grab it! This is a great chance to get a taste of Molly and Joe, the couple that so many people can't get enough of!

Here are the purchase links:

Amazon: amzn.to/1n6naDA
iTunes: bit.ly/16LbBdL
Kobo: bit.ly/1yii9ui
Barnes & Noble: bit.ly/1APfgV5
Smashwords: bit.ly/1vORLcc

If you've read it (or Mollywood...or Heartwood), please review them on Amazon, Barnes and Noble...anywhere where people actually purchase books. It helps with visibility. While I appreciate Goodreads ratings...it makes and author cock an eyebrow when they have twice as many ratings on a site like this vs. on the pay sites where those opinions truly make a difference. <3

Carved Hearts: The end of an era.

My husband and I wrapped the third and final book in the Carved Hearts series, Heartwood. Good Wood, Mollywood, and Heartwood will always hold a special place in my heart, as they are the product of collaborating with my very favorite person. These books are like my children, and I'm a fiercely protective mother. Releasing them into the wild has been exhilarating as well as nerve wracking.
I like to think it's our chemistry (L.G. Pace III and mine) that resonates with the readers. This probably accounts for why Carved Hearts 1 & 2 have been so well received by those special individuals who chose to take a chance on a spunky food truck chick and her reluctant hero, Joe the carpenter.
We both plan to take a little down time now that it's all over. Molly and Joe are going to be very hard for us to leave behind, and I for one will need a serious palate cleanser before I consider writing another love story. Maybe it's time to explore another genre. Who knows?

Pimpin' Wood

My absolute favorite thing about The Carved Hearts Series is the stunned reaction we get to the title Good Wood. Folks either giggle lasciviously or blink in wide eyed astonishment. I feel that Molly (the heroine of Good Wood and Mollywood) would laugh uproariously at the title's reception.

Allow me to clarify: no, Good Wood is NOT erotica. Yes, it has adult content. It's a hybrid of contemporary romance and contemporary fiction. There IS adult subject matter, swearing, nudity, and it may not be suitable for all audiences. However,
I can promise y'all that it is NOWHERE near erotica.

In order to spare several spoilers, I leave it at this: Joe, our reluctant hero, is a carpenter by trade. The title comes from his job, and the quote in the blurb better expresses the nature of the title and the flavor of the book.

Mollywood, the second book in The Carved Hearts Series is the same type of book. Chronologically, it IS a sequel and contains nearly all the characters from the first book (plus a couple of new additions).

Both Good Wood and Mollywood stand alone, but you WILL want to read Good Wood to fully appreciate Mollywood, and if you read Good Wood, you WILL want more.

I'd like to address one more question that always makes me smile. Yes, I DID really write these with my husband. L.G. Pace III is his pen name and he normally writes sci fi/ fantasy/horror. Good Wood was actually HIS idea and HE is the mastermind behind Joe. HE came up with the title, not me.

Mollywood

Good Wood is about to be released on July 21st. It stands alone, but I just wasn't ready to be done with Molly and Joe. I couldn't 'quit them', so to speak. So I'm officially announcing that Good Wood is #1 of a series titled "Carved Hearts".
My husband and I are now five chapters into #2, Mollywood. I expect it to drop (at the latest) in October. That's all for now, folks.Good WoodL.G. Pace III
