It was better than the first. I love me a villain and Mendez is that. I also really liked the creatures in these books. I love animals and wish I could pet them all.

I feel like the beginning of this book dragged on. It was 40 % in before anything actually happened. The ending was good a bit rushed, and now I f* king hate the FMC. Am I going to read book 2? Yes? I need the happy ending.
