Amy Rae Durreson is a quiet Brit with a degree in early English literature, which she blames for her somewhat medieval approach to spelling, and at various times has been fluent in Latin, Old English, Ancient Greek, and Old Icelandic, though these days she mostly uses this knowledge to bore her students. Amy started her first novel a quarter of a century ago and has been scribbling away ever since. Despite these long years of experience, she has yet to master the arcane art of the semicolon. She was a winner in the 2017 Rainbow Awards.

There are a lot of dragons out there, but the remaining four in the main series are Markell (rust), Isara (silver), Quarllian (purple) and finally Sharnyn (green). And, yes, Markell's up next, though it won't be for a while, I'm afraid, as I've barely started his book and have another project I need to finish first. <spoiler>And, yup, though it's going to be a stormy wooing XD</spoiler> (less)

The second book switches focus to different characters dealing with the consequences of the first book. End-of-book cliffhangers irritate me, so I try not to write them XD(less)

All the Titles I’ve Released Before ;)

I’ve just rereleased two more works from my backlist, so it felt like a good time to sum up everything that I’ve rescued from Dreamspinner’s ashes over the last few months.

First of all, here are Aunt Adeline’s Bequest, a Valentine’s short story set in a sweet shop in post-WW1 Chester, and Lord Heliodor’s Retirement, in which Lord Heliodor, traumatised and forced into early retirement, finds his li

“ 'I thought you were an atheist,' Sjurd commented to hide the clench of his gut. He couldn't be stuck here while his country burned.

'Nobody's an atheist in a storm,' Celyn said absently, still frowning at the sky.”
Amy Rae Durreson, The Lodestar of Ys

“ 'Yes. He was happy. He said, on that last visit, that some things were worth the wait. The world changes in unexpected ways, and all we can do is live in it and take joy in how it surprises us.' ”
