Grant Overstake is a Kansas author, journalist, and lifelong competitive athlete.

His first novel, Maggie Vaults Over the Moon, is the story of a Kansas farm girl who discovers pole vault while grieving her brother. It carries a foreword by Olympic Pole Vault Champion Katerina Stefanidi, has been named one of the best track-and-field novels of all time by Citius Mag, and is used in classrooms, book clubs, and Battle of the Books programs.

His second novel, The Real Education of TJ Crowley, is set in Wichita in 1968, in the summer after the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., as fair-housing law and school integration reach one boy's street.
