Clinging on to Hope
I have not posted anything for quite some time. I didn't even take the time to write a post in February when I released my latest book, Clinging on to Hope, which relates the story of the Rothert Clan who were Germans living in Lodz Poland as the Nazi regime invaded and took over. The Rotherts continued to live in Lodz until WW2 was drawing to a close. That's when they fled from the Russians to Germany where they resettled as refugees.

Guilty by Association
A number of years ago Samir and I started writing his biography, Guilty by Association. He would write down notes in Arabic, I would translate those notes into English, and then we would sit for hours over coffee discussing how to present each segment of his life as we filled out the details.
Well, we finally managed to finish the book and just released it through Amazon today, both as a paperback and a kindle e-book.
Writing his story was a very emotional process for Samir because growing up in Iraq, into his early 20s, was filled with pain, anxiety, torture, huge losses ... all of which still have a tendency to haunt him. But thankfully those experiences were also mingled with glimpses of hope … and that’s want he wants to dwell on.

528 people signed up to try and win three copies of Rubbing Shoulders in Yemen. Goodreads declared the three winners on Oct 12th, and the books are on their way to the winners.
Hoping soon to do the same for my new book coming out (sometime this fall), Iraq on Their Doorstep.
