Grab a tumbler full of vodka pour it over ice, add a enough cherry juice to be colorful and tart, a squeeze of lime and rim the glass with sugar then settle into this brave, honest and enthralling erotic biography by author Toni Bentley. Bentley is best when she writes about herself and the exploration of what brings her to the moment and then living in that moment and the consequences beyond. As the reader initially squirms and wants to look away one is drawn in and ultimately submits to this brutal expose of an intimate act never before dealt with - anal sex. Graphic and unapologetic The Surrender is a winner all around.
