Alicia Stankay is a writer living in Ambridge, PA. Many of her winning stories have appeared in her two collections of short stories, Between Two Bears (written with Bruce Midkiff) and Tales of Twenty Women. Her recently published first novel, Beyond the Bridge, is also now available on Amazon. Her love of nature shows up in her many photos of natural settings, flowers, butterflies, and mushrooms. From May to July 2014, she was one of the artists showcased in the New Brighton, PA Merrick Art Gallery’s Legacy Exhibition. I've always been attracted to bridges, especially those I've hiked across on so many trails in local state parks. Using the thought of a bridge as a connection between two places and a link to future possibilities, I placed two characters in that setting and let them show me the problem in their relationship.
