Although BRENDA RITTER has lived in Texas most of her adult life, she was born in Canada to a family whose roots were planted in New France more than 300 years ago.
She began her writing career as a professional journalist and is the recipient of many honors and awards including the U.S. Congressional Achievement Award; Outstanding Journalism Awards from the Texas and Houston/Harris County Mental Health Associations; Outstanding Investigative Reporting from the Texas Intercollegiate Press Association and 30 Writing Awards from the Texas School Public Relations Association.
The 11th Hour of the 11th Day, as a work in progress, was a semi-finalist and fellowship winner in Concordia University’s 2012 Summer Literary Seminar.
