Teaser Tuesday!

He took a seat beside me. I tore my gaze from his and noticed his left hand was covered in a white wrap, blood seeping through the bandage where his knuckles were. My eyes snapped back to his.
“Let me guess, someone bumped into you and made you angry.”
“Are you stalking me now?” His lips curved.
“Don’t you wish.”
“It wouldn’t be the first time a beautiful girl followed me around.”
“Rest assured. This beautiful girl will never follow you around.” I stared at him. “Why did you come over here? Did you get tired of your agreeable minions?“
“I don’t have minions, I have friends, and they’re not as agreeable as you think.”
I leaned forward, setting my elbow on the bar and resting my chin on my hand. “Did you come over to apologize to me for being rude?”
“I wasn’t the one who bumped into someone without looking.”
“What a crime.”
“What’s your name?”
“None of your business.” I pulled back, sitting up straight.
“You know, I can find out everything about you in five minutes. I’m just asking out of courtesy.”
“Right, and you expect me to believe that you didn’t already have all of that information before you walked over here?” I glanced over to the table where his friends were sitting.
They were flanked by girls on all sides, no longer just a group of guys having drinks at a bar. It had become a spectacle. I wondered if that was the way Travis was living his life now that I was no longer there, and why hadn’t it hit me in the form of jealousy until this very moment?

Teaser Tuesday!

I took a seat in the barstool across from him, yanking the cloak so it wouldn’t get caught in my sandal.
“This cloak really does nothing for me.”
“Really? Is it the bagginess? Is it the black? You wear black normally, so it can’t be that.” His eyes were dancing as he checked things off.
“You pay attention to me that much?”
“Hey, I knew your size, didn’t I?”
“Yes, and that’s creepy and weird. How did you know my size?”
“Guesstimated.” He shrugged a shoulder as he lifted a bottle of Jameson from the shelf behind him and showed it to me. “This okay?”
“Anything you give me right now is okay. My hand hurts like a bitch. I need a distraction.”
He placed two glasses between us, reached down, opened something that crunched and brought up a plastic cup with ice, and poured our drinks.
“You know, there are other ways to distract from pain.” He slid a glass my way.
“Let me guess.” I lifted it to my lips and took a sip, licking my lips as I lowered it. “You mean sex.”
“Not everything is about sex, Amelia, but I’m down for that too.”

Teaser Tuesday!

#TEASERTUESDAY

“You made me ruin my toga.”

“What are you doing in here?”

“Getting drunk.” I shut the faucet and looked at him, blinking when I finally got a good look.

He looked like he belonged in a toga, like an emperor, and the rest of us mere thespians in a school play. Logan, with his dark hair—tame yet messy—his dark green eyes, his golden skin and roped muscle, in a toga was definitely something to be admired.

“You’re staring.”

“I’m drunk.” I closed my eyes, shaking my head.

“Yet you’re still drinking, apparently.” He closed the distance between us just as I opened my eyes and suddenly he was standing within touching distance, kissing distance, and my heart couldn’t seem to handle the mixture of his proximity and the alcohol swooshing in my brain.

“You know what? You should just kiss me.”

“Oh yeah?” His lips twitched. “Why’s that?”

“Because the last time we kissed it was pretty good.” I leaned closer to him. “And you obviously wanna do it again.”

“Is that so?” He chuckled as he brought his hand to my face.

“It is.” I searched his eyes. He was entirely too amused and apparently too sober.

“Do you want me to kiss you?” His thumb caressed my jaw as I nodded. “Tell me.”

“I want you to kiss me so bad you have no idea.” My arm felt like lead as I lifted it and draped it over his naked neck. I let it slide and grabbed onto his shoulder blade. “You have a big muscle here.”

Logan laughed. “Oh, Mae.”

“What?” I blinked. “Are you going to kiss me or what?”
