The Purple Robe

It was a number of years ago that I began "The Purple Robe", and seeing it published brings an emotion that is not easily described. It's not the first book or story that I've had published, but it is unquestionably (in my mind, at least) my best effort. I may never do better than this.

"The Purple Robe" is a difficult novel to pigeonhole. It would be easy to say that it's "Catholic fiction" and leave it at that. But, it is readily accessible to non-Catholics, non-Christians; atheists too, I think, because it is a very human story, even as its characters struggle with issues of faith and the supernatural. You need not "believe" to empathize with the people contained within these pages. I think you may even recognize a few if only through a glass darkly.

Father Pablo's journey through the jungles of the Yucatan to discover the truth of the miraculous Purple Robe, is every person's fearful quest for something greater than their own fragile lives and unquenchable egos. You don't have to be Catholic to embark on this trek with my fumbling, imperfect little priest...you have only to be human.

I hope you enjoy the book.

The Purple Robe (New Edition)

My novel, The Purple Robe, has been released as a revised edition by Genius Book Publishing! It also has a very exciting new cover, as well. There are sample chapters available on Amazon for you to get a taste of this most unusual book. It's a combination of thriller, mystery, and fable. I hope that you'll enjoy it and recommend it to your friends if you do. You won't forget it, I think. Here's a link below:
