Doha 12, the paperback: coming soon
I just received the first printed proof for the trade paperback edition of Doha 12. Holding a printed book makes this all seem more real than it did when it was just electrons.
Once I approve the proof, the trade paperback should be available at both Amazon and B&N (and whomever else picks it up from Ingram). If you're holding out for a paper copy, your wait will soon be over.

Indie publishing, the second time around
The Murder Lab blog just put up Part 1 of "The Second Time Around," my accounting of what the second-time publishing experience was like for me. Some things changed, some didn't, and as in life, it wasn't always the right things that changed or stayed the same.
If you're interested in the indie publishing process, check it out: http://www.murderlab.com/2014/03/the-...

Indie publishing the second time around: part 2
What happened to Part 2 of my two-part Murder Lab post reviewing my experiences as a second-time-published author? Well, it's finally dropped.
This time, I discuss what changed between publishing DOHA 12 in November 2012 and publishing SOUTH in November 2013.

The Collection is Coming out of Storage
Remember The Collection? The first installment in my new DeWitt Agency art-crime series? Yeah, maybe not so much. What happened to that, anyway?
What happened is that I started querying agents, a process that hasn't improved since the last time I did it (for Doha 12). I got one request for a full copy, and thereafter one of the nicest rejection emails I've ever received. From the rest: crickets.
Being two-thirds of the way through the sequel, Stealing Ghosts, has forced the issue. If I'm going to keep working on this series -- which I'm really enjoying -- I have to eventually kick the first episode out the door so it can blaze a trail for the rest to follow. So eventually is now.
What does this mean? A lot of the prep work is already started. I've applied for a copyright; I have working Kindle and ePub editions; and the cover art is underway. I've tentatively set 31 October as the release date -- we'll see if everything comes together by then.
If you're reading this, it means you're a GR friend or follower; thank you for that. If you're interested in being an early reviewer -- basically, having a review cocked and ready to fire the moment the Amazon and B&N listings go up -- grab an e-ARC from BookFunnel at http://dl.bookfunnel.com/2r9cmzegc4.
In the meantime, check out the sample chapters from The Collection . If you like what you see, tell other people who might be interested. The sled's heading down the hill now -- buckle up for the ride.
