Someone wrote a review on my published novel, Shella City, claiming it was written by AI.

his justification was weird : "The book is too flawless to be written by a new author!"

I'm fine with people rating low for not liking the story but providing inaccurate information while I spent more than two years from the moment I started writing early drafts and publishing after the 9th draft is disappointing.

He also claimed the book cover was AI generated although I have posted in Instagram and TikTok a video to show the book cover design process and it was made be a professional designer.

The reasons is simple. The world of Shella is complex and the plot goes in various directions. Also, the life in Shella is individualistic, people spend most of their time within their close circles and the story from one side is totally different from the other.

That being said, here is a guide that will help you understand the main characters and the how they relate to each other.

Domainia: Randal’s Empire

The modeling and ads agency that took control over Shella spans way outside its headquarters. It extends to Randal’s loyalists in Sky and Grounds and even to the Partner Cities. People who believe and apply the Image Theories follow Randal’s teachings on their daily lives and act as loyal followers.

Randal

Age: 35

Society: Hi-Sky

Graduated from a Spring camp, worked as a sale assistant in a department store and wrote the Image Theories. Randal became a model and an advé himself then established Domainia which became a Hi-Sky entity heading the Image Union that provides oversight on Modeling and Ads industries. Randal is the Face of Shella and has unique seduction abilities which control the minds of his audience. He brought the Golden Age to Shella and has promised for more to come as part of his Diamond Age Agenda.

Cedric

Age: 49

Society: Hi-Sky

The Executive of Models Affairs Department. Cedric was previously a military general and later an executive of armed security agency before he migrated to Shella by Domainia’s recruitment. He’s known for his serious and cruel demeanor. He’s strict about enforcing the Divinity Order, although he doesn’t understand it. This enforcement involves violence, harassment and in some instances, murder.

James

Age: 48

Society: Mid-Sky

One of the Bless Members. James made a fortune overseas through corrupt business dealings before migrating to Shella. Upon meeting Randal, he pledged loyalty to his ideas. James is known for his addictive nature and his willingness to perform all what satisfies his craving. He is famous for his ability to make a single phone call to his investment connections that changes everything. James also leads a committee of Bless Members that provides oversight over the Platinum Network.

Kazoya

Age: 29

Society: Grounds

One of the Lead Duo of the Platinums. Famous for her title “Golden Phoenix” and for owning a large chain of gold stores. She’s also impetuous with a hurry-sickness and hot-blooded. Despite her firm believe in the Image Theories, she violated them multiple times by seeking sexual relationships with the Divas.

Anmar

Age: 29

Society: Grounds

One of the Lead Duos of the Platinums. Famous for his “Diamond Knight” title. Known for his relaxed behavior, cold emotions and use of drugs.

Glen

Age: 33

Society: Lo-Sky

Randal’s butler and the bartender in all his parties, including the secretive ones.  Glen is known for his witty comments, coded-bar-jokes and his reckless behavior.

Finny

Age: 30

Society: Hi-Sky

The CEO of Mercura, the corporate that owns multiple Cosmetica brands. A Bless Member with intention to fully own the Cosmetica industry appointing himself on its throne.

Zima

Age: 35

Society: Hi-Sky

The CEO and the sole developer of Soshayl App. She hides from public and always reverts to her office inside Soshayl Cloud server building. Her goals is for Soshayl to grow and become the owners of people’s fate by controlling memories while staying invisible.

The Prestige: Megan and her family.

The Prestige is a small society of old-money families who live an aristocrat lifestyle in the Prestige suburb. The wealthiest family among them is the family that owns Shella Bank.

Megan

Society: Prestige Youth

The celebrity model, her ancestors from her father’s side were a banking dynasty while her mother is from a noble family. She is the lover of Randal and has earned the “Face of Beauty and Elegance of Shella” title. She’s also a model of Domainia with an open deal which is different than the binding-contract given to all femme models.  Despite all her privileges, she is not content with being just a symbol; she feels a deep urge to live up to her title and become as influential as Randal.

Alice

Age: 36

Society: Prestige Youth

Megan’s older sister and a model of Domainia. Alice values the Prestige’s traditions and strives to prove herself worthy of becoming the next head of the family. She’s also very protective and caring toward her sisters.

Jenna

Society: Prestige Youth

Age: 29

Megan’s younger sister and a model of Domainia. Jenna and Alice enjoy an open deal with Domainia granted to them following the affair between Megan and Randal. Jenna is addicted to drugs and only cares about partying with her friends (the Prestige Youth) and has no future plans.

Quentin

Age: 75

Society: Prestige Senior

The Chair and the owner of Shella Bank. Known for his cold and strict demeanor and his avoidance of social life. Quentin runs his meetings inside his business lounge and doesn’t engage his daughters despite Megan and Alice’s effort to prove themselves worthy.   

Divinity Realm: The Charming Divas.

Modeling with Domainia is a dream for every aspiring model. Models of Domainia themselves strive to reach Diva status. Between the luxury life in Challis, to the hustle of fashion seasons and the brief breaks in Ginza Restaurant —the Divas continuously work on their image goals and compete fiercely.

Vicky

Age: 36

Society: Divinity Realm

The Diva famous for the title “Winter Queen” and her association with Winter Fashion, her role of running the Seduction Tournaments inside the Bless Events, and for being a trustee for Randal. Vicky has a reddish-tan and an arm tattoo and a past as a Maze model before Domainia; she’s highly intelligent and competitive.

Sally

Age: 27

Society: Divinity Realm

A migrant Diva with obsession to Makeup modeling and the Image Theories. Sally is very outgoing and confident. She migrated to Shella with her sister, Emma to escape the unrest in their lands. Despite her powers and knowledge, she’s lagging behind in the Divinity scores marathon.

Emma

Age: 26

Society: Divinity Realm

Emma became a Diva despite being introvert by learning how to turn social anxiety into strength with the help of Randal. She found herself bound to her sister, Sally and had to follow her shadows and yet to discover her true self.

Emma is a year younger than Sally; while both have golden-brown hair and blue eyes, Emma has curves while Sally is very slim.

Sophie

Age: 45

Society: Divinity Realm

The oldest Diva with the longest record of keeping the Diva brooch. Sophie is a mid-forties model with huge experience in Shella Market and was granted the Steel Woman crown from Chanel (The Head of Fashion Union). From her harsh past for being born for a labor family in the Growth Age, to modeling for lingerie brands as a start— Sophie became a trustee for Randal, closer to younger models like Ashley and has a powerful elegance on the Sky entities and Partner Cities. She has a mysterious role inside Domainia’s Bless Events rumored to be related to steel and leather.  

Ashley

Age: 22

Society: Divinity Realm

The Diva in her early-twenties with auburn hair, monolid eyes and extremely powerful Diva codes. Her rare ability to tap into her heartbeats and control her emotional pulses made her one of the Top Divas and brought her closer to her dream of becoming Randal’s next public lover. Ashley was raised in a Spring camp and has been lonely despite her paranormal powers, until she became close to Sophie who became her mother-figure.

Evana

Age: 25

The Top Diva at the beginning of the story event and the record breaker. Fostered at a Spring camp since her childhood by her mother who was also a model. Evana was the first model to be crowned Miss Shella on its new version after the pageant was sponsored by Domainia and has received her Diva brooch on the same time. Evana is known for her obsession with titles and perfection on each single detail.

Natalia

Age: 28

A migrant Diva with a past as a dancer in her hometown. Natalia

Helen

Age: 19

The current Miss Shella. Helen was donated to a Spring camp upon birth and has been competitive ever since. She’s playful, curious and likes to gossip.  After graduating Spring, she spent two years preparing for Miss Shella and received a special fund from a program sponsored by Shella Bank dedicated to Springys, hired a coach and learned Divinity in order to win.

Dareen

Age: 19

Dareen was raised with Helen on the same Spring camp. She joined the Spring modeling club after a famous photo for her as a child with a dog. Dareen joined Domainia soon after Spring graduation and was favored by Randal. However, Dareen struggle with Diva codes due to her unique elegance style— her emotions flow in her nervous systems in reverse. Dareen is known for her association with Summer Fashion and swimwear.

Georgie

Age: 21

A migrant model who’s aspiring to become a Diva along with her friends— Madeya, Claudia and Savanah. She’s the assistant model to Sally and Natalia during Fashion-weeks.

Chengal Hall: The Hidden Resistance inside the Sky World.

Since the bankruptcy of Pica Ads Agency as a result of Domainia’s uprising, Falon and his friends were determined to fight Domainia’s monopolizing regime. They started taking actions when they heard rumors about Dominia’s involvement in human trafficking, money laundering and malicious parties.

Falon

Age: 42

The former pono actor turned an entrepreneur who started Pica with Kal and watched its downfall together by the end of Growth Age. Falon is in his early forties and was raised as an orphan in a Spring camp where he showed strategic thinking skills. He graduated Sprin and made a bold move by joining the chaotic Pono circle, despite their ongoing crimes and theft. He managed to utilize his political mind to build a name as a pono actor before he quit and started Pica ads agency with Kal.

Kal

Age: 40

Falon’s former business partner. He has a dark skin, bald head and anger issues and the mention of Domainia reminds him of his self-loss and yearn for revenge. After the bankruptcy of Pica, he moved to conduct business in the remote Chaos Zones where he lived the thrill of weapons and moving cash. He has returned to Shella after hearing the rumors about Domainia and felt the time for revenge is here.

Rossa

Age: 39

Falon’s lover, a Plus-Size Fashion model who’s supporting with him in his current business and pursuit to uncover Domainia’s secrets. She’s determined against Domainia as she saw them destructing Pica and her previous life.

Hamza

Age: 50

A migrant investor who moved to Shella seeking to invest in the Innovation Industry after a long journey between cities. He was about to fall to Domainia’s loyalist network until he saw the biggest danger inside the Innovation Halls and decided to warn against it, joining the rebel group. Hamza is in his fifties, with long hair, short beard and hazel eyes.

Joshven

Age: 36

A libroz ads consultant who’s been a friend to Falon, Kal and Rossa since the Growth Age. He compensated his lack of skills for not being a Springy by enriching his knowledge and visiting Shella University library.

Layah

Age: 27

A data agent in her mid-twenties, who became a friend to Joshven and joined the circle with her greatest invention (the Data Map).

The Grounds: Mila and her Friends.

Revolutions always build up beneath the streets. From the middle-class Grounds World, Mila has been in quest of hidden missions in hope to restore justice and free the Modeling industry from its manipulators, taking her friends into dangerous turns.

Mila

Age: 38

Mila is a stunning former model in her late thirties who currently owns a cosmetic surgery business near the Ground Maze. She has noticed how Domainia reshaped Modeling industry during the Golden Age and how aspiring models in her clinic abuse themselves to join Domainia and later to become Divas. This led her to a journey to uncover Domainia’s manipulative tactics alone until she met her new friends. Mila has a long brown hair, amber eyes and honey-almond skin.

Bucky

Age: 35

A lawyer, who’s been helping Mila on her pursuit. He was in the Law school in Shella University with Zeer before Zeer dropped off and made his website. Bucky had a past affair with Model Jenna.

Zeer

Age: 35

In his mid-thirties; he lives the most horrible lifestyle inside Shella. After Spring, he dropped off the Law School to run a Pono website, using his superb cyber and technology skills to make it secure and used it to control the Pono circle and to establish “Zeer Palace” his own party house. However, at beginning of the Golden Age, Domainia advised Shella City to launch a warfare against Pono Industry and find legal holes against all its pioneers. Zeer fell into debts, pills abuse and daily dreams where he lived double life and double personalities, with a memory vagueness. He lost his muscles and grew a curly brown beard inside a wrecked small apartment trying to migrate out of Shella.

Zeer was raised with Randal in the same Spring Camp and had a short affair with Megan before his downfall. He also met Falon who used to visit the Zeer Palace parties.

Zak

Age: 35

A libroz journalist with pink hair and a visible reckless thrill. He’s a friend for Bucky and Zeer since the University days when he was at Media School.

Jared

Age: 30

A photographer who became an informal tour guide while conducting an illegal sell of stealth photos business. He hides a personal secret for capturing the photo that exposed Randal and Megan’s secret affair. The affair became public soon after the photo leaks. Jared provides paid services and has no clear intentions.

Elegance Agreement: A verbal, honor-based agreement used inside the Sky World “We promise, by our elegance” instead of legal documentation.Elegance Code: A technique using gestures, body language, voice tones, and micro-expressions to transmit emotional pulses and influence the “Inner-Mind” of others. Shella City is a land reserved and protected by Shella Treaty by UN as a separate City State and doesn’t belong to any continent. It’s bounded by shorelines and half of its land is developed.

The Metropolis

The Metropolis area consists of a cluster of the following districts: –

Gound Maze

Shella’s largest district and its main income source. Known for high end brands of fashion and luxury market, streets are wide, inaccessible by vehicles and designed a maze to prolong the walking period and increase shopping. The Metro Loop stations and walking are the only means of transport.

Divided into South, North, West and Wast Maze and the longest street is Laurence St. Ground Maze contains fashion houses, stores, malls and residential buildings.

Charm Piazza

largest open area, used for several occasions where Charm Day is the most known. Founders signed the Treaty with the UN members inside Charm Piazza.

The Piazza is a famous tourist attraction known for its fanciness, delicate style and has water fountains and marvelous monuments. It is connected to South Maze through Lawrence Street.

Wealth District

Located East of Charm Piazza, known as home for financial buildings and corporates HQs. Shella Bank and the Exquisite Building, the home of Shella Stock Exchange are located in the middle. The Skyscrapers and Shella Marina are toward the East of Wealth District.

Skyscrapers

Around twenty skyscrapers, known for their magnificent designs and sizes, some are connected to each other through sky-bridges.

Seifu District

East of Ground Maze, the district that hosts majority of Government buildings including City Council building and the Governé seat building. It also hosts the mission offices (no embassies) for Partner Cities.

Stazion District

A district that hosts large indoor and outdoor events venues and open spaces. Located toward North East. Famously hosting Fashion Seasons opening ceremonies and Miss Shella events. They create artificial snow during winter and can change the ambience to match certain fashion events.

Ville District

A district that was originally built as small apartments to host the early labor who worked in Shella’s construction during Founders and Growth Age. Before the district expands to host apartments for majority of Grounds people. The district is fashionable and designed for high quality of life and has its own parks, shops, communities etc.

Nordlys District

A new and luxurious district for fancy penthouses and known for hosting top fine dining spots, bars, clubs, casinos and night life activities. Laser generated aurora lights illuminate the sky at certain nights.

Haute Square

 Located South of Charm Piazza, a district that contains all the Innovation Halls. Massive Research and Development Centers serving Fashion and Luxury industries.

The City

The Prestige

A suburb located on the North Side, known for its fancy roads and the sprawling estates known as the Mansions. Home to the small and the high-level Prestige society.

The Suburbs

Located at the south of the City around Marks Road, contains houses of various sizes. Some suburbs are fancier than other with Hi-Sky society owning the largest villa houses.

Challis

A fancy compound around a lake in the North East side and close to Randal’s home (Platinum Palace) which is at the corner of the East and North shorelines. Challis is the home for Domainia Divinity Realm’s models.

The Ports

Consists of Sea Port toward the south east, Land Port at the west side of the Metropolis and a small Sea Port at the north side. Ports contain warehouses and logistic facilities also host light industries area for maintenance, repair and assembly activities. It also hosts the utilities such as power plants, water plants etc.

A cargo train connect the sea port to the land port through an automated railway.

The port is famous for its net zero emissions, hygiene and advanced automation. Port society used to live in dedicated apartments but now due to their reduction in numbers and availability of Metro Loop stations they now live inside the Metropolis.

Vestivina

Shella National Park

The Fashion Grove and Sylvan Village were taken by Sylvan Couture circle who managed to obtain a license for their village to be built inside National Park.
