From an early age, Andrew was drawn to all things mysterious and unexplained. Soon after graduating from Little Golden Books some of his favourite books became the likes of Mysteries of the Unexplained, Into the Unknown and Strange Stories, Amazing Facts. Some of his favourite TV shows growing up included In Search Of, Ripley's Believe it Or Not and Arthur C. Clarke's Mysterious World.

Andrew's other great love has always been the Australian bush. Growing up, he spent many weekends with family and friends camping and bushwalking in remote areas of the Blue Mountains, Central West and Southern Tablelands of New South Wales.
