She gravitates toward stories rooted in perseverance and in finding love in the darkest of places. Her inspiration for writing began with her own journey, which taught her the power of resilience and the beauty of healing. She has spent close to a decade as a special education teacher in Washington Heights, the neighborhood that raised her.
