We’re trying out a new platform

I’m not sure how many of you know about Kindle Vella, but if you like serialized stories, it’s available.

Reid and I decided to with a couple of his short stories and one of our novels and see what happens.

Scales of Justice: Welcome to the Neighborhood is complete and available now.

Scales of Justice: Tinfoil has the first three episodes up and will keep updating every Tuesday and Thursday.

Likewise, Kawokee: Heretic is also up and running, updating on the same schedule.

How does Kindle Vella work?

Well, the first three episodes are free. The rest of the episodes are unlocked with keys. You get 200 keys free just for trying out Kindle Vella. Then it’s something like a penny a key after that.

Why not check it out? Don’t forget to like and follow your favorite stories and episodes.

Busy and more Busy

Ice stopped by our table while we were at Anthrocon. Lots of mystery boxes were sold and a few books.

The next one is at Gem City Comic Con in Dayton Ohio, were we will be on our own as Byrnas Books. Hope to see you there.

AnthroOhio was fun

We had fun. The dealers den was set up in a pavilion tent connected to the hotel. You had to find the door that looked like it led to a maintenance hall to find everyone.

Yes, there were problems with flooding due to the rain, but I didn’t hear of anyone’s stuff being damaged. We put down tarps, just in case.

Anthrohio will be at the same hotel next year, and we plan on being there again.

Thank you Queblock for letting me take your picture. You’re so cute.

Things have been busy. Sorry about the late posting.

Furry Weekend Atlanta was both fun and exhausting. What made it more interesting is that if you are a fan of Loki, you might recognize the hotel as the TWA building.

I had the feeling of standing at the bottom of a ribcage.

I didn’t remember to take a picture of the booth until after the dealer’s den opened. I’m terrible when it comes to rembering pictures.

The last of the lizards are here

May 2022

The Thin Male is now available on Amazon.

When an inventor’s secretary is murdered, everyone assumes Mick will take the case because he knows the accused. Why won’t the squirrel come out of hiding and talk to the police? Everyone who knows anything does nothing but lie. If not for his wife’s taste for adventure, Mick would wash his hands of the whole affair.

Convention Updates & Stuff

It’s been busy and we’ve had some changes in the convention schedule. We weren’t able to get to Fur Square or Motor City, but we will be at Furry Weekend Atlanta, AnthrOhio, Antrocon, Megaplex, and possibly Denfur. These will all be under the Furry Mystery Box banner.

I’ll be continuing to update the list as we hear more news.

As for the books. Scott’s working on the last of the Parody series, so everything should be available by the end of May.

Will there be more Parodies? I don’t know. I’m thinking about it. There’s a few possibilities I’m considering, but they’re not in the noir category.

The Next in the Lizard Line is here

April 2022

The Crystal Screw is now available on Amazon.

Monitor lizard, Horace Avraham, has always steered his best friend and boss in the right direction. Only this time the Pit bull is ignoring his advice.

Victor Lenox is a cheerfully corrupt ward-heeler who aspires to something better: the daughter of Senator Jared Wilson Vale, the heiress to a dynasty of political purebred Dalmatians. Does he want her badly enough to commit murder? And if Lenox is innocent, which of his dozens of enemies is doing an awfully good job of framing him?

Can Avraham solve the puzzle in time, or will the next stop be the gas chamber?

The book is available in paperback along with kindle and will soon be on Audio. James Scott Spade is a wonderful narrator who’s already done the voice of Kaiser Wrench and Lucius Anoraq.
