Ben Purkert is a poet and novelist. His debut novel, The Men Can't Be Saved, is forthcoming in 2023 from Abrams/Overlook, and his poetry collection, For the Love of Endings, was published in 2018 by Four Way Books and received praise from The New York Times and Publishers Weekly. His writing has appeared in The New Yorker, The Nation, Slate, Wall Street Journal, Poetry, Kenyon Review, Tin House, and elsewhere.
