Kathy Merkt was an Army Brat, an Army Wife, and served military children as an Occupational Therapist. Even though she enjoyed her travels and adventures both stateside and abroad, she is now retired and thriving in a quiet rural setting of Tennessee.

She lives near her family, farms. and wildlife. Her art and children stories are influenced by this lifestyle.

She initially was an illustrator for a local author but then accepted a challenge to be both the author and illustrator for her own books. Young children and their parents will enjoy the cheerful, uplifting, and beautifully illustrated stories.
