State of the Ministry: An Update on Authentic Intimacy
At least a couple times a week, someone asks me, “How’s the new ministry going?” Sometimes I probably answer with a deer-in-the-headlights look because I don’t know how to describe it in just a few words. There’s lots going on! Here’s what’s happening right now:
I feel like I’m in the middle of a cyclone or tornado. Standing in the eye of the storm, there is an eerie peace as I watch God’s work all around me. I’m also aware that if I move to the right or to the left or move too fast or too slowly, the torrential winds will knock me off my feet. We are in a battle. I only know to keep my eyes fixed on my Lord.
God has graciously given us platforms and opportunities to proclaim His truth in this area of intimacy. This tells me how deeply He cares about marriage and about His people, even though we are so underserving! We have really messed up His design for love, sex, and marriage, yet He continues to pursue us with His peace and redemption.
Passion Pursuit released August 1. This ten week DVD and workbook course is a powerful tool that God is already using to redeem marriages. Linda and I were in New Zealand and Australia back in June and now we’re hearing wonderful reports about how God is healing lives and marriages in those countries. We were also just in Chicago launching Passion Pursuit and will be in Akron, Ohio in November spreading the word there.
Here’s something brand new! We are really excited about September 30 when we will be launching daily 2-minute features with Moody Radio and also a weekly podcast called “Java with Juli.” We’ve already recorded some podcasts with topics as diverse as a woman’s power and marriages with both spouses working. Today—in a bowling alley—we’re recording one from the guy’s perspective. One of the highlights of our podcasts is something we’re calling “That was Then, This is Now” featuring Linda and Hannah, each taking their age-appropriate perspective on a variety of issues such as stay-at-home dads. We can’t wait for you to hear their fun and feisty conversations!
We are praying that God will build a community around Authentic Intimacy made up of women and men who have been impacted by these resources and who share our heart to proclaim God’s truth. That’s why we’d love to have you connect with us. Join our prayer team, follow us on social media, and contribute financially to the work of Authentic Intimacy. We would also love you to tell your friends and share with them about all the Lord is doing with this ministry!
As I see the Lord working around, in, and through us, I realize that it’s not about me or the Authentic Intimacy team. It’s about what God has set out to do. We are honored to be His vessels in that work—a work that is UNSTOPPABLE!
