The Good, bad and UGLY about Self-Publishing…

I came across this by another author, R.L. Mathewson. I think it is completely relevant in today’s society of everyone trying to be up at the top, at all costs. I agree with everything R.L. stated in her post. Here is just a sampling of what she said. I’m interested to hear what everyone thinks?

I know its a hot topic around social media right now. Those that know me, know I say it like it is and speak openly and honestly from the heart. There is no hidden agenda.

There are new trends in self-p...

Love in Bloom

Image Hopeless romantic at heart! Who doesn’t love a great heartwarming, down-to-earth story set in the picturesque Pacific Northwest? I compare Sheila Roberts to Debbe Macomber, another one of my favorite authors.

While on vacation in Kansas City last week, I was visiting BAM with my daughter and stumbled upon Love in Bloom.

SYNOPSIS:

Hope Walker survived early breast cancer at just thirty-years-old, but a mastectomy left her with a lot of scarring—and some serious fears about dating. Hope owns Chan...

Let’s be nice bloggers, authors and critiques alike

free speechI read this blog post today and I completely agree with it. I am all about honesty and truth; let’s face it, we live in America and Freedom of Speech is suppose to be one of our Constitutional rights; right?

I am the first to openly admit when I do not like a particular book or genre, its ONLY my opinion and therefore, I have that right to speak my opinion; in a fair and amicable way.

If we all liked the same thing, how boring would our world be? Our society is based on Freedom of Speech, so le...

Teaser Tuesday!

So with so many authors in the blogosphere, I was wondering if it would benefit others to have a whole page dedicated to TEASERS? These are from newbies, to best-selling authors, all looking to create momentum for their already published book or soon to be released. Either way, I think it’s fitting to make Tuesdays, Teaser Tuesday to honor all these authors, whom are wonderful in their own rights, though I can not say I have actually read ALL of them….TBR list grows daily with so many amazing...

A rant about reviews…

savannahday:

Here is more ranting….as an author we need to be mindful of others. Thanks for sharing with all of us… http://tezmilleroz.wordpress.com/2013/03/11/tez-rants-when-authors-negatively-publicise-their-fan-mail/#comment-6399

A rant about reviews...

Reblogged from eBook Lovers Co-Op:

As any avid reader knows, picking your next read is often a crap shoot unless you know an author's work, either from personal experience or the recommendation of a friend. Beyond that, you have no choice but to search among the veritable endless supply of books available, hoping you chose well and spent wisely.Because I hate finding out that what little my money I can afford to spend on books was wasted on one not to my tastes, I tend to be pretty picky abou...

Don’t Judge a Book By Its Cover

Have you ever been told, “don’t judge a book by its cover?” Well of course we have, who’s mom didn’t tell us that, at some point in our lives; right? I mean, I tell my kids this all the time.

With that being said, we judge the books we read too, by their covers, right? If you saw any of these pictures, which would you want to know more about?

Pictures Hatchins, CO-Luke's House overlooks OR

Exactly my point! Sex sells on almost all levels. Yes, the mountain picture is beautiful and lovely, but the impression you get is not the same as th...

Gone, Back and Gone Again

Okay…its been a while, I have to admit, over a month. The problem is time. Do you ever feel like there isn’t enough hours in the day to get EVERYTHING done? Well, that’s EXACTLY how I feel. My debut book, Someday is again in BETA phase and again I am editing, editing and editing it more. Boise Fire and Coming Home are taking shape…my FREELANCE editing is going GOOD, always looking for amazing new authors, or authors who are looking for a fresh new look on their books.

I’ve been doing some revi...

I absolutely adore this writer, and not just because-okay he mentioned me and did a blurp about me, no not at all. It is so much more when a complete stranger comes into your path, becomes friends and goes out of their way not only to support you, but encourage you. I mean, how many of us would take the time out of our busy lives to promote others? Not too many really, without something in return. A HUGE THANK-YOU to my fellow indie author, Gabriel Lucatero!
